The MSFT is a test of aerobic capacity, the maximum rate at which an athlete can produce energy through oxidation of energy resources.
Set Up:
Need to have a clear running area, and set up two end lines 20m apart.
Need a device to play the MSFT through.
A way in which you can record participants efforts.
Procedure:
The participants line up at the starting line (the amount depends on the testers ability to successfully record multiple efforts).
With the MSFT there are bleeps that the participant has to try and keep up with, each bleep indicates how quickly the participant should cover the set shuttle.
The test is maximal and progressive, which means that it starts easy but will get harder the deeper into the test the participant goes.
When the participant fails to complete the shuttle in time with the bleeps they will get a warning but once they have missed 3 consecutive bleeps they are out of the test.
