Before participants begin the drill, the coach will tell the participant(s) which cone they will be running to (predicted) with it either being to the left or right. With the participants knowing which cone they will run to, the participants will begin the drill by accelerating to the second cone and run in the direction that the coach asked them to run in. Once reaching the cone, they will decelerate and come to a complete stop and perform an active recovery by walking towards the start of the drill. The drill will be performed between 4-6 sets at a work:rest ratio of 1:4 and performing the drill at 60% effort.
Progression- Increase the angle of the cones making it a much sharper change of direction/Increasing effort rate to 70-80%/Increase length of run by another 5m
Regression- Decrease the angle of change of direction/decrease effort rate to 40-50%/Increase deceleration phase by 5m
