Follow your pass (Zig Zag) Pas...

Workers pass the ball to the person at the next cone and then immediately follow it each time. Once the ball reaches the final cone the final player passes the ball to the waiting players and then sprints to join the back of the queue.

Zig Zag- Finding Space and Cha...

Set up: Half court, 3 stationary feeders, 3 balls, 1 attacker, 1-3 defence.<br><br>Feeders are placed in an extended triangle formation. Each feeder has a ball.Attacker drives out from transverse line to first feeder where a pass is received, attacker returns pass and moves around the feeder.Attacker does so with the other two feeders in the extended triangle formation creating a 'zig zag'.Attacker works her way through the 'zig zag' in both directions without errors.

Set up: 2 lines of players in partners set up across from each other with one ball per partner. Players are to pass to each other in their partners.The 2 players at the far end (don’t have a ball) begin weaving in and out of players down their own side until they get to the opposite end.Players who have just weaved call for a ball from the far end to get passed to them.The player and the partner who are now at the far end without the ball begin to weave down themselves.

Split the group into 6s with one ball per group.Red player 1 throws the ball to Blue player 1, and then receives a return pass while moving forward. Red player 1 then throws the ball to Blue player 2, who then passes onto Red player 2. <br> Red player 1 takes place of Blue player 2 and Blue player 2 goes to back of queue. Red player 2 repeats practice in opposite direction.Progression - The posts move to receive the ball each time.

Set up: A wall, one third space, one ball, 4+ cones, 2 players. 4 cones are set up in a zig zag formation down the length of a third space towards a wall. The ball is placed on the furthest away cone. A defending player stands in the middle of the cones, they are to &lsquo;pick up&rsquo; the attacker when they drive out. The attacker, drives out towards the first cone and zig zags towards all cones to move past the defender and get the ball off the cone. The attacker passes the ball to the wall and gets the rebound.

Set up: Five cones set up as a square with one cone in the center, 1 ball, 4-6 players.Two feeding players are set up in between cones in line with the center cone.Two attacking players start on the centre cone and choose a corner cone to drive out to, each driving to opposite cones.Attackers time their drive so they receive their pass on the centre cone.Attackers are to create a ‘bow’ shape by driving to the outer cones one at a time and receiving a pass on the middle cone between each drive.

Set up: Players set up in 4 corners 8+ players 2 balls in diagonally opposite corners Players without the balls and at the front of diagonally oppsite lines are the workers. Workers drive out and receive a pass from their left. Worker turns and passes back to the line they came from. Workers then drives back towards the line they came from to receive a short 'anywhere' pass (drop, high, bounce). Worker then drives to their left to receive a long over head ball and passes to the line they were driving towards. Passer sends a long flat ball to worker who then finishes off with a pass to the opposite line they originally started from.

Players start at baseline.Two players, from the front of each line begin by jumping over the mini hurdles (set up at right angles to each other).They then run to ladders set up in a cross formation. Action 1: Forward steps into each square.Action 3: Left turn: Forward steps into each square and backwards to return to the middle. Action 3: Right turn. Steps in and out of squares both directions to the middle.Action 4: Stright weave with both feet in each square. Players run towards cones set out in a zig zag formation across the middle third space. Players run from cone to cone in a zig zag direction.The focus is on taking off the outside foot. Players sprint to the end baseline then turn and sprint back to where they came from.

Set up: 1 ball, 4 cones, 1 third area, 6+ players.Three cones are set up in an arrow formation with 2 at the base. A player stands on each of the cones. Remainder of players are in two lines at the bottom of the arrow behind the two cones. Ball starts at Player A (left line). Player A passes to feeder 1 (first cone on the left). Feeder 1 passers to player B while Player A runs around feeder 1. Player B passes to feeder 2 then runs around the feeder. Feeder 2 passes to player A who receives the ball in the middle of the diamond. Player A passes to feeder 3 then runs around the feeder. Feeder 3 passes to Player B who has driven from feeder 2 and receives the ball in the middle.

Set up: Full court, 6+ players, 10 cones. Players start in two groups on the baseline. Cones are set up in a ‘Christmas Tree’/zig zag like formation down the length of the court. One at a time, each player runs straight to the first cone. Side steps to the second cone. Runs a diagonal to the third cone. Sidesteps to the fourth cone and finishes with a diagonal to the last cone.Players then join the group on the other side and do the same movements going back down the court. Players are running continuously and leave the baseline with the player in front has reached the first cone.

Set up: 6+ players, full court space, 1-4 balls, 8 conesThree cones are set up across the width of the court about a meter in from the sideline. In groups of three players line up across from each other behind the cones. Cones may be placed along the sideline so player understand they are to stay on the outside of theses cones but still in court. The ball starts with the middle person. Player on the left cone drives out straight and receives a pass from the middle. Middle person then runs to the person they passed the ball to. Player on left who received the pass, deliveries the ball to the third player who has driven out on the right. When players pass they the follow it to the player they have passed to take their position. Players continue this ‘weave’ down the court.

Set up: Goal third, 1 ball, 1 passer, 2 midcourt, 1 shooter, 2-3 defence.Ball starts with passer behind transverse line.Both midcourt players drive from the transverse line to circle edge then back off again (creating the ‘M’).Passer delivers ball to one of the midcourt players off the circle who then delivers the second ball to the other midcourt plyer on the circle edge. <em>Option: Passer candeliver directly to shooter who may choose to come out of the circle. Shooter then is </em><em>to deliver a pass to a midcourter and get into position.</em>Ball delivered to shooter, who puts the shot up.

8+ players in 2 lines facing opposite eachother at diagonal points of a rectangle. One player at the start of one line with the ball. Player at the front of the other line drives to the space opposite the player with the ball and recieves the long pass. They then pass back to the line they came from with the short pass and join the back of that line.Same thing happens from the opposite line.As the coach calls &quot;short&quot; or &quot;long&quot; the rectangle to get larger or smaller.

Split players into groups of at least 10 players, with one ball between them inside a square grid (half a third).Players work in pairs (1-4) who start opposite one another. The ball starts with the number 1 (top left corner).The ball is passed around the outside of the grid. After the player has thrown the ball they switch places with their partner.Players do the skill practice for 1 minute then rotate clockwise to the next numbers start point.Challenge - if players do not make it to their point in time and miss the ball they are out.

Tips and tricks of passing the D

Could enlighten me on some helpful tips or tricks on passes to the "D" and within between the mid court to the shooters. Also on some drills regarding their footwork since that was one of the weaknesses that we found. Mistake on stepping and not being able to maintain balance.

U10's making space and passing the ball early?

Hello all, I have been coaching my u10's currently for 2 years now. They are a fabulous little team i.e. gs holds and defence box out etc however we are never winning games! They are currently playing up a year and after sitting back and watching what is going wrong I had noticed they all seem to be in one area so no-one can drive into a space to receive a direct fast ball. When this occasionally does happen the ball is not released fast enough and consequently intercepted! I was wondering if anyone has an tips on space, driving into space, and early passes! This team could be amazing if we sort this is out! Please help!!!!!!!!!
