I have a trick I use during my cente pass. the centre?

I have a trick I use during my cente pass. the centre just places the ball on the ground after the whistle ha blown and then the WD comes up from behind and picks up the ball and plays. This has caused quite a stir and some umpires then punish my team. What is the rule and can we use this trick? Thank you! Ronel

I am looking for some really good/fun team building drills for 11 yr olds?

I coach a girls netball team that is predominantly aged 11 years. I am looking for some really good team building drills – are you able to help/provide this? Also, we have some problem girls who are always trying to get out of doing practice and I wish to make it look so much fun that it would feel like a punishment for them to be sitting on the side watching. Can you provide some ideas?

I have a mixed team of 9 yr olds. Some who have never?

I have a mixed team of 9 yr olds. Some who have never played and others who have played 3 terms and are good at anticipating, finding space etc etc. As we need to rotate positions each quarter, some quarters with combinations do really well with free flowing passes. Other quarters with different combinations, the midcourt movement is like bees to a honey pot. Any suggestions re how to encourage the whole team to find space, anticipate moves, work as a team and not run after the ball (small ask!) Thnx

does anyone have any drills to stop a whole team from stepping?

My team has girls from 12-14 who step and get pulled up all the time. They have been playing for years but can't stop stepping. Does anyone have any drills that might help

Does anyone have any exercises or drills to stop my girls passing to th other team??

Does anyone have any exercises or drills to stop an entire team of girls from passing the ball to the defenders instead of their own team mates...? THey can all throw a pass to each other in training, I've tried adding pressure situations where they have defenders to evade to replicate the real game but in games they cannot seem to get it together...help!

Hi

I have a team of 8 10-11 year old girls.  5 of  them have great skill level and are very enthusiastic the other 3 are quite lazy and are not up the skill level of the others. I am finding it really quite hard at training to engage these 3 while not holding the others back. It is also hard to place them on game day without the others getting frustrated. Any ideas. HELP

Using stratagies in netball

Hi, i am predominantly a U12yrs coach but i want to transition in to coaching the high school girls. I love all these drills and session plans and have found them very helpful, but i am looking now for information on strategies used in netball eg/strategic positioning of players when changing from attacking to suddenly defending after a turnover, or when should the GA drop back . when to use a zone defence or side-on defence. All these questions that aren't covered by drills. Is there somewhere to get this info or is it just learn as u go. Thank you

How to deal with different levels of skill in one team

I have an U10 team playing in Div 1, we are doing well coming 2nd in the comp. The problem i have is I have 8,9 and 10 year olds in the team as we are a small club. I am looking for Drills to cater all age groups and the girls abilities/skills. There are girls who play beyond their ages, and then girls who cannot catch or throw a ball, (basically 6 of the 9 players cannot do both). They have improved, but i find the skilled players are getting frustrated as there are alot of turnovers due to basic errors, bad passes, stepping, offside etc....any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Any hints on how shorter defenders can defend a very tall GS.

The 163cm defender is great against regular height girls her age (ie 13) but I need some help with the tall girls (185 cm +). She jumps really well and is constantly with the player. She reads the play well but it is almost soul destroying to see the opposition lob the ball into the tall girl who stands and waits for the shot.

Girl who lets the rest of the team down?

My team of year 4s have been playing together for 2 years, some players are in their third season. They have mixed natural talents but they are progressing well, listen at training and they all try their best to putting into practice what they have learned at training on game day. After a terrible first season when they did not win a single game, they have progressed into winning a few games this season, and bar one game have been competitive against their opposition every week (which is all you can ask for, eh?)All bar one girl. She rarely turns up to training, her parents tell me she is unwell each week. On game days she arrives only a few minutes before the game and when it is raining or she is playing a position she doesn't like, she either doesn't try at all or even sometimes wanders off the court half way though a quarter! My honest thought is that her (and her parents) are letting the rest of the team down, by not coming to training she is not learning the new skills and then on game day she doesn't seem to be enthused anyway. The frustrating thing is that when she does try, when she does turn up to training for a few weeks in a row, she is actually a decent player! So my question is: do I keep her in the general team rotation (when she has to play a key position there is a definite hole) or do I 'punish' her for not coming to training by playing her in less key positions and having her take more off-court time than all the other girls who are trying? The other girls are starting to notice and ask "Why"...any words of wisdom? They all go to school together, apparently she is the same in class.....

hi guys. i am the coach of a year 6/7/8 primary team, this year i picked an extra large squad of 13 girls as we are a small town and didnt want to turn anyone away. i have 2 players that are by far the standouts of the team. at beginning of season i explained due to numbers no one would get full games and two people would stand down per week which has so far worked well. however now the parents think i should be playing these two girls all the time for full games. the two girls will leave for college next year and i fear giving them all the game time will discourage my young up and comers and i will then be left with nothing next year. i also think some parents are unaware if i do this it will be their children that are on the sideline. is it better to have many kids playing some netball than just some playing lots??? please help

What a fantastic tool. The Chalkboard and session tools make an unbelievable difference in making training plans in both time and organization. I will be instructing all of my assistant coaches that this tool must be used for all sessions during the season, so that we may build a club coaching resource library.
