I have thoroughly enjoyed using your site to help me with my coaching plans for my under 9's netball team.
How do you train to get past a zone defence. Kind regards Madeleine
Recently started a ladies netball group, mostly formed by ladies who played at highschool. Have to improve fitness, introduce game rules and keep those less novice players interested. Any ideas on the best way forward?
I have my first training session with 14yr old girls as their coach coming up. I've never coached anything before but know the game of Netball really well and love it, and, if someone doesn't coach them, they won't be able to play. My biggest concern is relating to these girls - it'll drive me crazy if they don't take it seriously and try their best. Does anyone have any advice on what I should (or shouldn't) say to them on the first night? I don't want them mucking around, but I want them to enjoy the season too! H
hey i hurt my foot playing netball i roll on one side as i was landing. The doctor said all i had done was torn some tissue. But they didn't tell if i can play on the weekend and train on Wednesday. Can i?
How to make the girls run? The girls in my team are not running.
my team always sit down and they never want to run so what do I do. we lose nearly every game and they blame the coach but its their own fault
My girls are doing exceptionally well in their grade and i am very proud, however i am wondering if i should work on fitness with them or not? Help?
Help! I am a student coach and I need to plan a session for approximately 50 girls and we only have one court available to train on. Any drills that can be used to train such a large group?
i train on my own and then go into netball training but all we do is practice in game situations.
We need to train this because they are scared of the ball
we dont train, only play.Strong opposition GA ,was the difference in last game.is it worth getting GD AND WD to block her from getting into ring,?
Hi I have a player who has recently taken up another sport and cannot attend training at all but can attend the weekend game. We are half way through the season. I am not sure whether its fair to give this player as much game time as the other girls and just wanted to know what other coaches might do in this situation. Thanks
How long do you think 11 to 15 year olds can train for in one session before not gaining any benefit. I was thinking 1hour to 1.5 at the max.I have a wide range of ages in my team this year and want to make sure that the older girls are being challenged enough and the younger ones aren't over doing it.
I have a particular player who disrupts training constantly, she doesnt concentrate and undermines me often, she chooses which part of training she wants to do and refuses to do the rest, if forced to do it she sulks and puts the whole team into a mood. I need an approach with her that will get her attention at training and her respect.
Our girls have recently become unmotivated and bored with netball, i want to make training tonight fun and exciting, does anyone have any ideas of what we can do. Drills and or bonding excersies? xx
How do I approach a training after a bad loss due to shots? They are 10 year olds and the team played well but due to only 20% of goals going through the hoop the score didn't reflect the closeness of the game. Ta.
I am coaching an U13s team and at training i am struggling to get them to listen and stop mucking around. Any ideas i can try?
In an hour and a half training session, I want to cover 2 to 3 defence drills, 2-3 attacking drills and also have stations set up for goalies, mid court and defence to do a drill specific to each. How long should I allow for each drill, and still fit in the hour and a half training?
I'm a fast runner and keep getting pulled for footwork as I'm catching the ball whilst running. How can I train myself to jump for the ball?
Hi, How to keep girls of U13 team focussed during training? They are a lovely bunch of girls, but their focus is all over the place. What do you do to keep girls on task?
