Netball: throw ins

My friend coaches an under 13s team and when someone has the ball they all run for it like seagulls going for bread. The coach has told them many times to spread out and for not everyone to run to the ball at once but the girls keep doing it and they can't get the ball down the court.

Can someone please advise me on where can I locate sound information on court systems?  Thanks.  Wendy

Hi, I am a new A Reserve netball coach this year and wondering if anyone had a few set plays for a defense throw in, by this I mean a side line throw in or a base line OUTSIDE the goal circle. very hard. And if anyone could help me with a gameday warm up for 8-9 girls, including goal shooting please and thanku

When coaching first timers (U11) I am focussing on trying to get the basics of passing, catching, footwork and creating space right but do you think I should be pushing them harder and with more tricky drills or keep sticking to the core basics first - some are taking a while to get solid with these basics! Don't want to turn them off our beautiful game! Any good ideas to get the girls to learn basics would be welcomed - I am trying everything!!

Hi everyone!! I need some help.... Does anyone know any easy but fast side line or back line throw ins and who should take it. What about any drills for centre pass or to releasing the balls faster and not wait until the opposition player is with them.

I have an Under 9 Team with a mixed bag of some good skill level and understanding and others that have very basic skills/Understanding. We have played 3 games this season and won 2. I know all the areas I want to focus on eg,Ball Skills, Footwork, Defending, Attacking, Zones, throw ins, centre passes eg, but is there an order I should create my session plans with these skills flow onto each other. Please help I am the coach of 9 13/u girls. We currently playing in Blegue but we are struggling. I sit and watch how other teams play they look like well oiled machines with every girl knowing her place and what to do, in comparison our girls look"messy" they still crowd the ball running in to the person who's got the ball. At times when they do spread it they tend to "hug" the boundary lines staying within 2 m of it. They rely on overhead passes a lot . Or very short passes around 2-3m apart. And our biggest struggle is to score of our own centre passes. We just don't seem to be able to get the ball across the line. Please help

baseline throw in sets

Defending the Throw In. On the weekend, the opposition had a set play (on some occasions but not all the time). GK was throwing in. The GD, WD & C all gathered between the centre and the 1/3rd line, closer to the 1/3rd line. Each of them broke at different times. 1st GD leading left, then WD leding right and C down the middle. This week if they do that again, I think I will not have my GA/WA/C next to the girls, but 4-6 ft in front of them waiting for the leads on the angle to watch the leads and the throw in. Any other suggestions? we play that team again this week!!   

HiCan a shooter rebound the ball( from a backline throw in) off the post and jump onto court, catch the ball from the post rebound and then shoot? It seems crazy to me but I have been told that this is now allowed?

What is the best way for GK throwing in to GD from the goal line.  I find GD ends up receiving a pass just a short distance from the GK. When we could make so much more of the space.  but I can't seem to stop her running straight at the GK. Thanks AP

Where should I position players on the court for a throw-in from the backline?

My defenders are having a lot of trouble getting the ball in from out of court. 1 issue is the goal keep really struggles with quick decision making autistic) thinking of trying gd throw in instead as we seem to llose the ball every time. Any advice would b appreciated (8-10 yr olds age of team)

When a player throws the ball in from outside the court (from the backline, either the GS or the GA is throwing the ball in), can they throw the ball and have it rebound off the goalpost, while catching it mid-air???

When throwing in from the baseline inside the circle can you pass the ball behind the post to a player on the other side of the post. Can't see anything in the rules saying you have to throw in front of the post on the side you are standing on (where ball went out),.

Does anyone have set plays that cover all of the netball court including side and base line throw ins?
