I have thoroughly enjoyed using your site to help me with my coaching plans for my under 9's netball team.
Help with coaching 8 year olds what drills should i use as they are playing netta netball.
I have just started coaching 20 9year olds at my daughters school. 18 of them havn't played any netball. I have started teaching them the basic ball handling skills, shooting and we are working on the rules. I have limited time to get them ready for their first game due to alot of our training days falling on public holidays. We had our first mini game at training last week and it was ciaos. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can try and teaching them the rules while having a mock game without a mass of confusion??
I am about to take my netball team to the NSW State Age Championships where they will be playing around 19 games over 3 days. Does anyone have any tips and suggestions about nutrition and fluid intake? Cheers.
Does anyone have any good advice on being better at GD?
How to do a roster to rotate 10 netball players
I have a u/14 team with no netbal experience. I myself have never played netbal before. How do I start and what is the most important rules and patterns they need to know?
coaching u13s have 6 good players and 2 that this their first season. For this first half of the season most of their training has been catching and throwing .I find that they are not improving so on game days the other players are reluctant to pass it to them as they either drop the ball or pass it to the opposition.I am struggling to know what to do
I am having a mother and daughter netball camp and would like you to help me. Do you have any suggestions on this? It is going to be helping the mothers to inspire their daughter to have the love towards netball. Thanks Dawnita
Hi,We're halfway through the competition and our team was undefeated. Secretly we were already thinking of playing in the finals. We've just learned that our District has upgraded us to the next higher grade. We'll be at such a disadvantage not knowing any of the teams. Also all the teams in our previous grade had byes and so we've played 5 games and had 1 bye. The teams in our new grade have had no byes and have played 6 games. So the next team up (also undefeated) has 18 points but we have 15 points. Seems an unfair advantage to me. Is there a way to adjust for the bye we've had?Lastly, our next game is against the team that is at the top of the ladder. What can we do to be as best prepared as we can be? Many thanks in advance!
How domi deal with a player who does not attend training but yet wants to participate in league games. She is a good player but I feel she is missing out on training and how the whole team functions together and led eloping herself further. Also I have a player who thinks she is the best player in the team . She enjoys playing centre position which she is very good at. After half time I get her to sit out because I need to give ankther players who is totally as good as her to play centre as its fresh legs on the court, plus she gets a little tired playing centre. She feels she is capable of playing a full game and why does she have to sit out at half time. All the players are excellent players in the team therefore it's difficult to decide who to sit out and who to keep on??Please advise
I'm a coach for an under 11s teams, at the moment I'm doing basic drills to make them understand footwork, marking and passing, etc. But I think they get bored doing those drill so how do I motivate them and get them to be enthusiastic and have fun about the sport but also they can learn?
My U11's are playing an agressive team in our Grand Final. They physically hurt my team who come off, upset and even crying during the match. They make use of elbows, stepping on toes, bumping etc. How do I help my team find the confidence in playing such a team??
My team consists of 6 players (7-8 year olds) we have been focusing on the fundermentals, but however in game play they are not coming forward and getting free, loosing track of their players. How do I make a fun interesting positive game for them to get this skill?
Just after opinions on this, when playing in my local league some of the bigger clubs that have a team in almost every division use umpires for their games that are from their same team (but a division above). There is a big difference in playing teams with a random umpire who is not connected to that team, as opposed to a team that uses an umpire from their own team. It's almost quite biased and often very obvious. Has anyone else every experienced this? If so what did you? It's a tricky one! Asked using Sportplan Mobile App
what are some enaging games for developing footwork within my year 11 netball team. Prefer some exciting modified games over drill please, as basic drills tend to lead to disengament. thank you in advanced
Let us know the best drill to include when coaching a beginner level team !
Hi, I'm co-coaching an U13 team. The players are a mix of experienced, but mostly inexperienced players, with a couple of players who are really talented (these are two of our inexperienced players). All players are new to each other. The girls won every game at the district grading days and we were upgraded two levels. We are now in round 6 of the competition and the girls have lost every game and we just lost from the team that was below them on the ladder. We've had a couple of injuries and one was quite bad in round 4 requiring surgery which has shaken the girls as well. They are starting to lose heart and their game is deteriorating. How do we keep them motivated?
Hi all.....Just curious on how everyone approaches a pre-game team talk and any suggestions you might have for a group of 17 year olds? Thanks, Lyn
I want to do a getting to know you netball based activity with a newly formed team of 9/10 year olds. Any suggestions? Thanks!
9 players - 4 girls off half a game each week or 2 players off per quarter? I coach a 10 yrs team in a very close A grade competition. There are 9 players therefore 2 reserves are needed each quarter. Is it best to have 4 girls off for half a game each week, less disruption to team but best players are then off for half a game - girls are off every second week, or 2 girls off each quarter, more disruption but best players are only off for quarter of a game, girls are off every week. I am required to give all players equal time on the court throughout the season. Thank you.
