Netball: talk

Does anyone have any tips / ideas / drills on getting players to talk to each other during game play... not just calling for the ball when making a lead but directing play too? I have a team of mixed experience but when they play in a game you can almost hear a pin drop! Any advice?!

How do I motivate a netball team going into a tournament final

Is they any  drills  i can implement at training for chatter boxers  and the team forgetting the basic skills in a game of netball. i.e. defending their players through the game, foot work, throwing a ball to team members getting in fron t of the players , no even talking to each otheretc                                                   Its very frustrating when theses girls are  13/15 year olds and are  lazy .     

Just briefly, a player in my team is having some problems with bullying online, but does not wish for me or her parents to know. one of the other players is aware of this and has informed me of the situation. without being too involved i just told the player who told me to keep tabs on the situation incase it gets worse. I understand as a coach, i have a recponcibility towards my players welfare but at the same time i want them to be able to trust me.. im 19, and my question is, as some of you are older adults, what would you do?my girls are U13s

I have taken over coaching a 15/un open team about 8 months ago. The focus for improvement was to work on fitness. They are much fitter than when we started and now can finish off a game. There are 4 very good players and 4 average players. I need help with the attitude of one of the girls. She half-hearted takes direction, doesn't play well unless she plays in the position she wants to, constantly whispers negatives to others at training and is constantly giving us intolerable looks if she doesn't like what she hears. I could go on and on. And yes she is one of the average players. We have 3 coaches in the team and we have never come across such a rude girl. In my day you would get a ball in head if you weren't looking and listening to the coach! Please help with how we can engage this girl.

Recently I have noticed some of my team members have started being nasty towards each other on the court and negative towards others. It is affecting their game and everyone else's. I also have a player complaining about another player behind her back. How do I get my team to become more positive towards each other and re-iterate that we need to get along and encourage each other?

I am coaching girls who are in year 8 high school, so around the 13-14 age group. It has come to my attention that there is one particular girl in the team who "lords" it over one other girl at school. Tells her things that she thinks she is doing wrong and basically criticises her style of play. The girl who is being picked on was so upset she did not want to train this week and told her mother she wanted to leave the team.How do I combat this?I have already had one session with the girls about being a team and supporting each other and being better people. It seems to have fallen on deaf ears for this particular girl...

What should a player do when they are in a rep team & committed but the coach makes comments after a carnival game like ''why did they bother coming if they are going to play like that" It's rep level, so the time commitment is big for parents & players and these comments visibly affect the team morale. It's also said at the side of the court where everybody can hear. My daughters shooting gets noticeably wobbly after these pep talk. They are given no specific guidance on how to improve their technique or change their game. Good players who are not difficult have left the rep team partially because of these types of comments. It is nearing the end of rep season & I fear if my daughter speaks up now, there will be negative consequences for her & and if I speak up, I will be seen to be an interfering parent. I know coaching is a difficult gig as I have coached for several years. Granted, a good game is acknowledged, but the damage has been done. They are 13/14year old girls and generally, not too sassy. The girls train for club & rep, play an extra game for rep each Saturday, umpire & practice outside of rep training, so they are a committed team. Several of the parents in the team coach & we all find this style to be counterproductive. Any suggestions?

what to talk about with girls on first practice

My daugter 8 year old were chosen for the A team but now recently shifted her to the B Team.Because she is struggling to defend and do not know when to open up come forward to catch a ball.How can i help her.

I coach 11 year olds. Let's say our GK secures a rebound, pivots and looks to pass to WD who is holding her position on the circle edge (leaving no space for anyone to get in front of her).Is the WA from the other team allowed to then place her outside foot in between our WDs feet and effectively bully / push her way so that half her body is in front of our WD? Just starting out coaching 10-year-olds. I want to do a motivation/team build exercise. ie you're part of a team but you are developing personally etc would love some suggestions :-)

Hi,I am finding it really difficult to get one of my shooters out the habit of trying to shoot every shot from the outer edge of the circle with not a very good success rate. She doesn't seem to see or want to understand that a pass would be more beneficial, has anyone had similar issues or have any suggestions to get rid of this attitude and mindset. If a player at the other end to which I'm umpiring grabs a player and throws her to the ground . There umpire doesnt blow her whistle or do anything. Is there something I can do ?Can I stop the game ask to meet the umpire in the middle of the court and ? Asked using Sportplan on Mobile

What to say to the team at half time to keep them motivated?

What are some good things to say to a team who are losing by a fair amount at halftime.?? They are 12 years old. How can i get them to keep motivated & not give up??

I have a team of representative players who don't talk or communicate enough. Whats some team building and drills I can use that will encourage this?Thanks
