I have thoroughly enjoyed using your site to help me with my coaching plans for my under 9's netball team.
what is the best way to teach 7-8 yr olds to use the whole netball court not just one side they just won't spread out
Looking for drills to develop 'aggression' in players when there is a loose ball - ie. to 'want/own' that ball.
We are a very small club, only 10 to 15 players and range from complete beginners to quite skilled players. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we can keep all our players motivated and move everyone forward? Should we separate different abilities or mix everyone up and hope for the best? Thanks
How do I evenly rotate a team of 10?
How do I rotate 8 girls for netball
How to do a roster to rotate 10 netball players
9 players - 4 girls off half a game each week or 2 players off per quarter? I coach a 10 yrs team in a very close A grade competition. There are 9 players therefore 2 reserves are needed each quarter. Is it best to have 4 girls off for half a game each week, less disruption to team but best players are then off for half a game - girls are off every second week, or 2 girls off each quarter, more disruption but best players are only off for quarter of a game, girls are off every week. I am required to give all players equal time on the court throughout the season. Thank you.
Any ideas on how to rotate nine players in an under fifteen years team (none of whom want to play defence)??
Is there a system for rotating 9 girls through each position fairly each week
How do you fairly and evenly manage a team with 10 players without offending and upsetting people? How do you compile a roster or game plan to accomodate everyone, and what can you do to avoid upset around finals time?
how to rotate 10 or 9 players fairly
I coach and under 13 girls team and having only 7 players, I am unable to continually swap and change my players. I have two set players that play GD and GK, however, as much as I have tried they do not work together. There isn't an issue with them personally, I just don't think they understand they need to work together. I am just after some sort of different approach to teaching them to work together than what I have tried. I have tried teaching them to work together to defend the space in the ring, and also to talk to each other and call swaps, double team a player etc..
My associate coach and I disagree on whether U/10s should play different positions or focus/settle on one, maybe two. I don't want to put the girls in a box at such a young age but I also don't want a Jack of all Trades situation. They are still developing so much that I feel I'll be doing them a disservice by just putting them in the same position every week. The assistant coach says if we move them around we're not going to do as well but that is where the participation vs performance comes in for me. Surely at this age development is more important than winning? No coach likes to lose but I don't want to win at the expense of them experiencing different positions. What do you guys suggest? How can i help them improve their goal shooting
What's the best way to divide a team with 11 players through the 4 quarters?
I have began coaching Under 9's this season, we have played 3 games and I have kept the girls mostly in the same positions as my plan was to spend a few weeks in an Attacking Position, then a few in a defending position and then say the last 5 games in the area you are best at and enjoy the most. I was planning to change positions for this Saturdays game, but training has been cancelled due to bad weather. My question is, do I change their positions on game day with limited time to do any sort of game plan etc or do I just keep the same as the past 3 games? I know there is no right or wrong however I am interested in your opinions.
