If the defender has her 3ft against the shooter and the shooter then takes a step back is the defender allowed to move in a bit or stay where they are? Asked using Sportplan Mobile App
iam in u/14 and i step a lot and give away free pass the team is getting bored
Good day. I would like some clarity regarding transverse lines. Are players allowed or how far are players allowed to step on or stand on transverse lines during play or at goal circles and at centre passes. Please some controversy regarding this rule.
My year 6 girls are experimenting with stepping in to shoot a goal. I'm finding this to be a disadvantage as they are unbalanced on one foot and therefore inaccurate. The defender is not required to step back, keeping 3 feet from the grounded foot so the shot is put up into the defenders hand. I am a centre court player so I'm not sure what advice to give.
When a shooter lands and then steps in to shoot, lifting grounded foot, do GK/GD have to have already been 3ft from grounded foot, or can you come in after the 'step in' and defend the shot, as long as you're 3ft from the grounded foot?? I think I'm allowed to come in later but kept getting pulled up for it tonight. I'm sure having to be there first with hands up before said step in, is an old rule...
How do stop my u11's from stepping, we do drills at training but during the game they keep stepping?
I need some clarification please. In the goal circle if GS steps in towards the goal post and lifts her grounded foot, where does the defender defend from if the shooter stepped in before the defender lifted her arms? Is the 3ft from where her grounded foot was or where she stepped in to?
what is a good drill to teach stepping around a player?
My centre was penalised for stepping in the centre circle - she took her centre stance and after the whistle was blown she stepped out with one foot. I didnt think a centre had a 'landing foot' at a centre pass, providing both feet are in the circle when the whistle blows, but the umpire said when she returned to the circle she put her left foot in first so that became her landing foot even though play had not been started. I told her just to stay in the circle but I would like to know if the umpire was correct or if she had it wrong
We have a few new kids to netball this season and they are developing well but still step continuously. any goods drills or hands on training ideas would be great. thanks
If the GS steps forward towards post in circle keeping her landing foot up does defender mark 3ft from landing foot or step in Asked using Sportplan Mobile App
Shooter is about to shoot and obstruction is called. Defender moves to the side. Is the shooter allowed to step in once step?
Hi There, My Daughter runs in very big steps, I think if she runs in small quick steps, it will be better and quicker to dodge her defender? Any thoughts and or drills to help with this please? Love this page!!!
When a shooter steps in when taking a shot the defender does not have to move. Is this rule still current or have they changed it because on saturdays game my defenders were not moving when the shooter stepped in but they were being pulled for obstruction every time. Also if the shooter steps in and you keep your feet still but move your arm is this still obstruction?
What drills are there to help stop 10 year olds from stepping
Hi I coach a great team of under 9s and when we do a driving drill we start with "pitter patter feet" (like a very fast low jog on spot) then when i say GO they drive forward. However a lot of them step back with their foot then drive forward. Any tricks out there to get just going forward? Is it just the foot they start on like the strong foot? Or something else?
Is pivoting from heel to toe and vide versa stepping? Asked using Sportplan Mobile App
If you pivot on the ball of your foot and then your heel is this a legal move?
Are shooters still allowed to take a step in (grounding both feet) when a penalty pass or shot is awarded or has this rule been superseded?
Hi, two of my 13 year old players are constantly stepping. I have tried drills, with the landing on their outside foot, both feet and even put a coin in one of their shoes, so they can tell which one they landed on but they still step. Any suggestions? Thanks
