Netball: step up

My year 6 girls are experimenting with stepping in to shoot a goal. I'm finding this to be a disadvantage as they are unbalanced on one foot and therefore inaccurate. The defender is not required to step back, keeping 3 feet from the grounded foot so the shot is put up into the defenders hand. I am a centre court player so I'm not sure what advice to give.

Can you be penalised for standing back from the line when taking a sideline throw in in netball?

Any ideas on controling footwork with 8yr olds?? I am co coaching a team of mixed first timers etc and we are getting a lot of stepping coming through at training, then in our half court games it runs rampant.... Have covered the pivoting, twist and go but they just cant seem to stop? Maybe I'll get them to run at a wall and see if they figure it out then....

My team has girls from 12-14 who step and get pulled up all the time. They have been playing for years but can't stop stepping. Does anyone have any drills that might help

I assistant coach a year 5 team who have horrible core strength and they can not do planks and apparently 'sit ups are too easy' and they can't do push ups. What can i do to give them more core strength??

I coach U11's who seem to expect the ball to fall into their hands rather than jump for it. No matter how much I teach them, they simply don't jump! 

I would like to do a fun session with my 17 year old as we are at the bottom of the ladder and will not make finals now.

Hi Please help me, My Daughter played GS most of the time - last year the coaches played with her on several position in field, This year she plays GA but she seems to be taking to long to come open or she is to fast, and the defenders picks up on her movements and it's position overturned... How can I help her with timing?

Just starting out coaching 10-year-olds. I want to do a motivation/team build exercise. ie you're part of a team but you are developing personally etc would love some suggestions :-)

Say I have been called up for obstruction in the circle and the shooter then has the ball and moves to the space where the umpire has said. I was standing where I believed the infringement occured but the umpire told me to move up with the player. Am I allowed to stay where I was or do I have to step up as well? When a shooter lands and then steps in to shoot, lifting grounded foot, do GK/GD have to have already been 3ft from grounded foot, or can you come in after the 'step in' and defend the shot, as long as you're 3ft from the grounded foot?? I think I'm allowed to come in later but kept getting pulled up for it tonight. I'm sure having to be there first with hands up before said step in, is an old rule...

I need some clarification please. In the goal circle if GS steps in towards the goal post and lifts her grounded foot, where does the defender defend from if the shooter stepped in before the defender lifted her arms? Is the 3ft from where her grounded foot was or where she stepped in to?

Good day. I would like some clarity regarding transverse lines. Are players allowed or how far are players allowed to step on or stand on transverse lines during play or at goal circles and at centre passes. Please some controversy regarding this rule.

Can a shooter step forward closer to the post with both feet after a penalty pass or shot has been given against the defending team, or would this be footwork?

Hi, I am a 13 year old girl who plays netball every Saturday. I have been playing netball as a centre since I was about 9 yrs old. When I moved teams I changed to GA cause they needed a GA. I had also been playing basketball so when I moved into GA I shot like a basketballer. I only just recently started trying to shoot like a netballer, but it is't really working. Our GS is usually the player that shoots most of our goals but she broke 2 fingers and is out for the finals. I need some advice to help me to be a better GA and step up a shoot lots of goals to see our team go into the grand final.I need help learning to shoot better but my coach is young and plays defence. p.s. I am the only other shooter in my team.
