HELP Quarter time break talks ...

I have found I tend to repeat myself a lot when it comes to the break times. I actually had a mental block in what to say in one game at 3 quarter time & felt like a real fool. I feel I am letting the girls down. I guess my nerves kicked in.My team is a mixed bag of skills, they are 15, 16 year olds & we haven't won many games due to having to teach half the team basic skills to break bad habits. Yet I can't advance the skilful players. I do work on a positive mind etc as I find some don't have confidence in their ability. I haven't been trained as a coach, I look on sites like this one for help. I use to coach 4 years ago primary age teams & we were very successful but we grew together over the years. With the teenagers & a different school I have found it more challenging & feel I maybe out of my depth & don't want to let the girls down.Does anyone have advice for me. thanks

I have just started coaching 2...

I have just started coaching 20 9year olds at my daughters school. 18 of them havn't played any netball. I have started teaching them the basic ball handling skills, shooting and we are working on the rules. I have limited time to get them ready for their first game due to alot of our training days falling on public holidays. We had our first mini game at training last week and it was ciaos. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can try and teaching them the rules while having a mock game without a mass of confusion??

mum gets frustrated with my pe...

my coach put my team into a higher division to play in the Twilight competition. I used to play amazing when i played in my own level, but now since i am versing higher teams, my performance is really bad. i keep on getting tired, which then leaves me to not be able to get free, defend, pass or jump to get the rebounds. it is really annoying, because my mum does not seem to understand why i am so bad now, and she yells at me all the time. i tried telling her that she has to be supportive instead of criticising me because she has no idea why i'm playing bad, but she just gets even more mad! we don't have proper training because our coach is too busy, so we have a players mum.Her training is not the same as my coach's.please help, i don't know what to do!

How do I get over my mental ru...

Two months ago I started playing netball again after having my baby. Pre baby I was a good goaler, always got my shots in no matter where I was in the circle. First few games back I did okay with my movement and my shooting was pretty good considering also. Then one game I was really off with my shots, ever since then every single time i play, I over think and doubt my shooting. As a result I miss the ring completley and therefore fall more into this mental block. How do I get over this and get my ‘flow’ back? Asked using Sportplan on Mobile

Help to slow down-Hot Potato! ...

I organise a ladies netball group of varying abilities but mostly beginners. Despite constantly telling them to slow their play down, they are determined to pass the pall on as soon as its in their hands often resulting in sloppy passing. Any suggestions on how to slow the pace down and hopefully, improve their passing?

Can the defender place her han...

we had two different umpire opinion's last game about the defender placing her hand on the ball to prevent the shooter from being able to shoot.one umpire stated this was contact and that the defender is not allowed to do this, but the other umpire stated that as the defender was the required 3 feet away she can place her hand on the ball

What a fantastic tool. The Chalkboard and session tools make an unbelievable difference in making training plans in both time and organization. I will be instructing all of my assistant coaches that this tool must be used for all sessions during the season, so that we may build a club coaching resource library.
