What is the best way to teach a new girl how to shoot a goal? Is it 2 handed with ball above the head and arms stretched up?
Drills to improve shooting! ie the actual shot itself. Our shooter is brillant at getting in crazy long shots... but not consistantly. any tips?
I'm a shooter and need skills to deal with defenders blocking my shot with their hand. I find it either puts me off completely and I shoot badly or else I keep shooting it up into their hand.
hi i jut started playing GK for a local netball team and i am struggling abit, im not sure on what i can and cant do, ie jumping and waving my arms etc plz help
My team recently played against a team where the GK would shake the goal post everytime our shooters would take a shot. She was not picked up for this at all, i believe it was an infringment, maybe intimidation or some type of contact. Can someone advise, is this a viable play, or is it an infringment. It was very obvious, she would only shake the goal post once the shooters had released the ball for a shot, not before so she wasnt leaning on it for support and she kept doing it and was never picked up
I have a shooter that shoots with one hand. She has a great strike rate, if the conditions are in her favour (ie no wind, rain or glare) The defence manage to see her and the shot from a mile away and tend to load on her. How can I or can I do to show how to protect the ball prior to a shot?
Are shooters still allowed to take a step in (grounding both feet) when a penalty pass or shot is awarded or has this rule been superseded?
How do I approach a training after a bad loss due to shots? They are 10 year olds and the team played well but due to only 20% of goals going through the hoop the score didn't reflect the closeness of the game. Ta.
I play school and state netball as a GK/GD, when my other player is defending the GS or GA, I hold on to her defenders leg/hand for an extra lean. Because I'm quite larger and taller than most girls and already have a pretty good lean, when I ask my defender to hold me so that i am closer to deflecting the shot, she uses two of her hands and her body strength to hold me. My coach told me not to do this because she believed I wasn't allowing myself nor my other player to get an intercept or rebound, even though we had gotten most rebounds and had gotten a few intercepts with this technique. Is this an disadvantage or advantage to us?
Can a shooter or defender stand under the goal ring with arms raised waiting for shot to be taken if they are within 3 feet of opposition player. They are not defending the player taking the shot. eg: GA was taking shot, GD was defending the shot. GS was standing directly in front of GK with her arms raised waiting to see if shot was to be rebounded.
what are some ways to help 14 year old girls who are quite advanced in netball, with boxing out and rebounding in the goal circle (as goal defence and goal keep) Asked using Sportplan on Mobile
My GD is tall and has a very good stretch when marking the shoot. She anticipates well, and when she sees the shoot about to release the ball, times her action and from her stretch, flicks her hand to try to deflect the ball from its path. In a recent game, she was continually pulled for contact when doing this. She felt either the shoot had raised the ball up into her hands (and it should have been the GD's possession), or the shoot had actually released the ball before she then deflected it, rather than her knocking the ball from the shoots possession. The umpire after the game was happy to discuss and said the GD had been penalised for knocking the ball out of the shoots hands, and should have stuck with the stretch and not added the flick. Any advice?
How do you get the Goal Defence staying with the Goal Attack, especially when the Goal Attack drops down behind the Goal Defence and gets the ball all the time in the Goal Circle? How do you get the Defence in the Goal Circle to rebound and how do you get the Goal Shooters following their shot and rebound?
How can GS and GA help each other in circle when defenders are tall, intimidating and high contact (ie putting hand on ball when setting up to shoot, putting hand over face). Can GA stand between GS and GK to give GS a clearer shot?
i need to know some techniques when marking a player in netball.
Hi,I am finding it really difficult to get one of my shooters out the habit of trying to shoot every shot from the outer edge of the circle with not a very good success rate. She doesn't seem to see or want to understand that a pass would be more beneficial, has anyone had similar issues or have any suggestions to get rid of this attitude and mindset. Thanks In advance Asked using Sportplan Mobile App
I am not sure how to teach my girls how to defend a shooter who catches a pass with the splits and then sets up to shoot. Can anyone assist. Girls are aged 15 & 16yrsthanks
We are playing in n a grand final this week and the opposition has a very tall GS and holds very well. I am thinking of getting my defences to double team her but wanting to know best way to teach this & also what's the best way of stopping the GA (just getting WD & c to try & block her getting in the ring) any thoughts on best way to beat a tall shooter. The girls are 13 but played a lot of netball. Thanks
