I have thoroughly enjoyed using your site to help me with my coaching plans for my under 9's netball team.
How do I set a defensive zone (ie GA WA C WD GD) and teach the girls to defend the zone they are in and not go for the ball?
Can a Defender hold up another defender? appearently one of my under 15's had seen it during a game
coaching u13s have 6 good players and 2 that this their first season. For this first half of the season most of their training has been catching and throwing .I find that they are not improving so on game days the other players are reluctant to pass it to them as they either drop the ball or pass it to the opposition.I am struggling to know what to do
I have a group of approx 20 people and I am looking for some tips how to plan out a session with some sort of game at the end? thanks in advance
I have a GS in my under 11 accosiation team, meaning she has been chosen out of many girls to play in this team. She just looks like she is off with the fairies every game, doesnt pay attention at all. My two main issues is she doesnt lead forward and when defenders get rebounds she doesnt turn into a defender instead she just stays back at post. I have tried getting her out in GA for a run to help with her leading but its even worse. I have tried explaining to her and showing her even getting her to watch the older girls. Nothing seems to work. An official told me try her in WA to get her leading downpacked but my mid court players are amazing. I dont know what to do! Help please
Hi everyone. I am a first time coach and my team knows nothing! where should I start and what drills would you recommend?
Hi, I'm co-coaching an U13 team. The players are a mix of experienced, but mostly inexperienced players, with a couple of players who are really talented (these are two of our inexperienced players). All players are new to each other. The girls won every game at the district grading days and we were upgraded two levels. We are now in round 6 of the competition and the girls have lost every game and we just lost from the team that was below them on the ladder. We've had a couple of injuries and one was quite bad in round 4 requiring surgery which has shaken the girls as well. They are starting to lose heart and their game is deteriorating. How do we keep them motivated?
How does a coach keep training sessions fun, complex, educational and entertaining enough to keep the older girls interested and for the younger girls to keep up? And some training sessions have less than 10 girls (easy to handle) and some can have maybe over 30. Only ONE of these teams (a group of 9) are mine and the other 20-odd are from at least 4 other teams in the club.
My shooters tend to bunch up in the goal area or pass 5-10 times around the goal area to get closer to the goals without success. Do you have any ideas on how to better use footwork in the goal area?
Is it a good idea to break the team up into their different positions and work in small groups ?
how do you teach shooting to university students who are all beginners?
I just wanted some help planning a netball practice for 8 year old girls - about 1/2 - 45 minutes - the girls are just starting out
How to move around in the goal circle Asked using Sportplan Mobile App
My team of 8 in junior div" is a strong defence team. I have 5 players who have only played GD and GK. I have 3 WA who are the three shortest on the team and I am using one as centre. I have one WA who has bad feet so she is in GS. She is great at getting the ball but due to height cannot get a goal or get the rebound. My other WA struggles with shooting even without pressure but can get the ball well. My GD' are alternating in WD and doing well. My only 3 players who have height are GK players. 2 are excellent, one is working on watching the ball. Should I move one of my tallest players to Ga/GS? And train them there in that role. How do I change mindset from GK to GS? Any advice Would be appreciated.
I coach a player who practices shooting basically every day but cannot get them in when she is playing. The problem isn't to do with her technique but rather her confidence in her abilities is lacking. How can I build her confidence?
how to apply progression
I am asking this question because every time I do netball everyone in my team always expect me to have an perfect shoot but I always miss just because I am good basketball that doesn't mean I am good at netball
9yr old accurate shooter with 95% shooting stats shoots from chest. team has been upgraded to play 12yr olds so she needs to learn higher shooting stance as def too tall, but she is having difficulty with this and fast loosing confidence. should i pull her from shooting for awhile as she learns, what do you suggest
