I have thoroughly enjoyed using your site to help me with my coaching plans for my under 9's netball team.
I have just started coaching an under 11 team and don't quite know where to start. I have a some girls who have never and others who started last year. I have limited time before each game to do training. Does anyone have some suggestions on where I should start? There seems to be so many things they need to learn and not enough time to teach them.
I am just about to start coaching a team of 7-8yr old kids in netball. None of them have played before and I want to make it as fun as possible for them. What are some games/drills can i play with them that arent too complicated but help them learn the game of netball and develop their skills?
"help, 1 handed shooter". i need advise on what to do with my GA, i have just started coaching U13's and have found that my GA shoots 1 handed from the shoulder all the time and she is very stubborn when i try to tell her she needs to practise shooting from above her head because the defence players are tall and put there hand over the ball stopping her from shooting all the time. help! what can i do.
9yr old accurate shooter with 95% shooting stats shoots from chest. team has been upgraded to play 12yr olds so she needs to learn higher shooting stance as def too tall, but she is having difficulty with this and fast loosing confidence. should i pull her from shooting for awhile as she learns, what do you suggest
How can a coach teach accuracy in goal shooting? Our team has 40 odd shots for goal in a game but the most we have scored is 14!
Hi, I'm co-coaching an U13 team. The players are a mix of experienced, but mostly inexperienced players, with a couple of players who are really talented (these are two of our inexperienced players). All players are new to each other. The girls won every game at the district grading days and we were upgraded two levels. We are now in round 6 of the competition and the girls have lost every game and we just lost from the team that was below them on the ladder. We've had a couple of injuries and one was quite bad in round 4 requiring surgery which has shaken the girls as well. They are starting to lose heart and their game is deteriorating. How do we keep them motivated?
I need shooting drills for around the circle to help my team on weekends. I don't want drills that have nothing to do with moving the ball around the circle and shooting. I want shooting set ups for game day please.
What drills or training can you give goalers to do so their goals convert each time they shoot in netball?
I just wanted some help planning a netball practice for 8 year old girls - about 1/2 - 45 minutes - the girls are just starting out
I'm in desperate need of a drill for clearing space on a game, and a real good shooting drill please!! Asked using Sportplan Mobile App
Hi all.....Just curious on how everyone approaches a pre-game team talk and any suggestions you might have for a group of 17 year olds? Thanks, Lyn
Two months ago I started playing netball again after having my baby. Pre baby I was a good goaler, always got my shots in no matter where I was in the circle. First few games back I did okay with my movement and my shooting was pretty good considering also. Then one game I was really off with my shots, ever since then every single time i play, I over think and doubt my shooting. As a result I miss the ring completley and therefore fall more into this mental block. How do I get over this and get my âflowâ back? Asked using Sportplan on Mobile
My team has only won one game so far (out if 4) this season and when calls go against them or they drop a few passes or miss a few goals they just lose motivation and seem to struggle. They are seniors not juniors and I don't know how to pull them out of a funk. Asked using Sportplan Mobile App
How can you make under 13s, under 15s, and under 17s training different as some players play on more than 1 team.
how can I improve my goal accuracy
explain fully shooting drills

they are shooting from too far away and are missing a lot of goals Do I take them back to basics? they are 12 year old girls. We lost the grand final by 3 goals and there has been a team change for the Spring season.
When a shooter steps in when taking a shot the defender does not have to move. Is this rule still current or have they changed it because on saturdays game my defenders were not moving when the shooter stepped in but they were being pulled for obstruction every time. Also if the shooter steps in and you keep your feet still but move your arm is this still obstruction?
My GD was do face marking in a game and doing a fantastic job at blocking the GA entering the circle and not being able to shake her off, the umpire for the other team repeatedly called her for intimidation. To me it did not appear to be intimidation and the player herself umpires and sees this in many of the high level games. She is not pushing, no arms are used in fact it is the other players pushing into her. Is this intimidation I thought that was a pretty tough call. What constitutes as intimidation?
