Does anyone have a drill to encourage under 11's to come forward for a pass rather than asking for the overhead pass all the time as they are 'running away' from the ball in their haste to get to the circle?
i would like some tips/drills for Netball training, on how to clear the ball out of defense with minimal passes in the defensive 3rd?? Any ideas/drills?

I have conflicting advice - don't teach too many court strategies ie C to WA to GS to GA from a centre pass as I have been told that it stiffles their thinking. But without this I find they all crowd the space and at 10yrs old it seems very difficult to get them to understand about reading who is already in that space. Or perhaps I just aren't explaining that concept well?? And also when bringing the ball through the court from a goal line throw in at our GK end - same with strategies for that. Is it okay to say GK I won't you to throw it to GD, then GD to C and so on and this is where your area of the court is and I want you to stay in that area and try and get the ball there? Keeping the WD on the otherside and making sure she doesn't cross over. Confusing over how much at this age we teach court strategies or perhaps they are know as plays. Alice P

I coach a team of U15 girls who vary in their ability. Our play from the baseline throw in is disjointed and the ball is often intercepted as a result. What is the best way to teach the girls to read each others play and operate as a smooth unit?

i'm doing netball coaching as one of my practicals for GCSE PE and ive set myself a few goals such as to improve my confidence to ensure girls enjoy my sessions but what else could I put?
I keep coming across situations of umpires reversing play for "pass not set". Typically where we want to take the pass speedily the ball is laid off, it is then being reversed as the offending player has not been standing by our side and ball given back to the offender. Surely this can not be the correct use of the rule? Some who contacts but then chooses not to set the penalty in time is then given the ball back? I understand it being reversed if the pass is not set from the correct position, but surely not for not waiting for the offender to be by our side!
The lead & drive drill looks good but does not add the 2nd centre which would obviously be standing in front of the GA, with the defence either side effectively blocking the GA off from advancing forward or sideways - any suggestions?
I'm a young coach who is coaching an 11A's team. I find it hard to identify/pick up on the problems within their play. How do you identify these problems in order to fix them? hi everyone, I coach an under 9 netball team. As usual we have a variety of skill levels in the team. On Saturday, we lost by a lot. That didn't trouble me - it was the attitude of a few girls that really disappointed me. They gave up. They stopped running, staying with (or even near) their opponent, stood still with their hands by their sides and refused to play.AAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I sat them down after the game and said that I don't care about the score board, I care about your effort. When you stop trying you let the whole team down. When you look like you can't be bothered, that leaves me feeling like I can't be bothered either!Ok, what should have I done? help please oh learned coach friends!Thanks, Melissa

What a fantastic tool. The Chalkboard and session tools make an unbelievable difference in making training plans in both time and organization. I will be instructing all of my assistant coaches that this tool must be used for all sessions during the season, so that we may build a club coaching resource library.
I can't get enough of the Sportplan, It has given me back the enthusiasm i was starting to lose. My girls are so keen and are ready at 14 to take the next up in their game. Sportplan will help no end.
