The Bow Movement - Netball Dri...

Set up: Five cones set up as a square with one cone in the center, 1 ball, 4-6 players.Two feeding players are set up in between cones in line with the center cone.Two attacking players start on the centre cone and choose a corner cone to drive out to, each driving to opposite cones.Attackers time their drive so they receive their pass on the centre cone.Attackers are to create a ‘bow’ shape by driving to the outer cones one at a time and receiving a pass on the middle cone between each drive.

Set up: Shooting circle, 4-7 players, 1 ball, cones.Divide three channels across the court (you can refer to these as channel 1, 2 or 3 or first, second, economy class).Use cones to determine channels for players that are learning the areas.One channel in front of center transverse line (center pass area).Another channel between transverse line and top of circle.Final channel is from top of the circle to baseline (shooting area).Center feeder to pass ball to first attacker who will drive from WA position to middle of the first channel.Attacker to turn and pass to second receiver who will drive circle edge and pass the ball into the shooter.Shooter to shoot.

One A starts with the ball. She passes to her partner who has made a move to get past a defender. First A then moves, taking on the other defender to receive the ball back from her partner, a 1-2 passing pattern. A then passes to another A at the front of the opposite line to where she started. Defenders mark tightly. Working As line up at the back of the opposite line to where they started. New As repeat.

Starting on a backline, players move the ball through the court ending up with the shooter who puts a shot up.Players should aim to pass the ball in the following order: GK, GD, WD, C, WA, GA, GS.If WD had the ball for example, ideally the C should receive it, but WA also needs to offer in a different space for the ball, as well as the GD providing a back up offer if the C is not available.There should always be a back-up offer from the player who has just received the ball, as well as a minimum of two offers from down the court.Players should aim to time their movement so they are reading off each other.

Cut back: WA runs one way, stops quickly - changes direction and runs into space to meet the pass. 3. Double bluff: WA runs and stops, making it look as though they are going to cut back before continuing their run in the direction they were already running to meet the pass.

Approximatly half way down 1/3 and near halfway.2 other players, the workers, start on the baseline with the balls, one each. Workers pass ball out to first posts on a diagonal and follow the pass to recieve a short pass from first post.Workers then pass straight on to the second posts and follow the pass. Second post players toss a high ball for the workers to catch. Workers stay put and the second post players run down court to recieve a long pass to the point of the first posts.First posts move down and will become the workers in the next round.

Divide your players into two equal lines, with one ball with the first player. Two feeders stand in the middle on either side of the two lines. The first player passes to the feeder on their left and then runs out to receive the return pass. Players must face the same direction the whole way round (direction faced indicated by small arrow) - to achieve this they should: Sprint along the first side facing forward. Side step along the second edge. Jog backward along the penultimate side and then Side step along the final edge of the grid.

Slowly the two attackers pass the ball back and forth down the court towards the circle. The defender must move to the ball side of the player inside the circle. The defender must remain on their toes and keep moving as the two attacking players can put the ball into the circle at any point.

Partners, 1 ball, small space ideally with a line or cones, passing player.1. Partners set up facing eachother. One player to create a movement and the other one follow. 2. Variation: 'Coach calls' GO! Players drive towards the ball to get the ball. The player initiating the movment is the attacker and the mirroring player is the defender.3. Variation: Players work through some mirror work. The coach then drops an 'anywhere' ball for players compete to get.

Body Angles- 5 Points Movement...

Players set up like five points on a die- these are the feeders. Workers start in the middle facing out to one of the feeders who has the ball. Worker recieves a pass in the middle and passes back. They then drive on an angle towards the the far point on the same side as the ball ensuring they can see the ball and body angle is indicating where they would like the ball. Feeder sends a long pass to the point the worker is heading to.Worker then passes a long pass to the far diagonal feeder. They then front cut the middle point to receive another pass on the drive and pass back to the feeder. Once again they turn body angle to see the ball as well as indicate where they are heading and drive to the last far point on the die and receive a long pass from the feeder. Repeting again, the long diagonal pass and front cut for the pass in the middle. Roatate players after player makes a few successful run-throughs.

8+ players in 2 lines facing opposite eachother at diagonal points of a rectangle. One player at the start of one line with the ball. Player at the front of the other line drives to the space opposite the player with the ball and recieves the long pass. They then pass back to the line they came from with the short pass and join the back of that line.Same thing happens from the opposite line.As the coach calls &quot;short&quot; or &quot;long&quot; the rectangle to get larger or smaller.

Team forms a large circle.Two balls start at opposite sides of the circle.The balls are passed around clockwise to every second person. Both balls are trying to catch up with the other ball.

Switch Movement - Netball Dril...

Example GD clears and runs in a crest WD moves to receives ball from GK and passes the ball to GD GD then passes the ball to C The Centre should take up a position just over the transverse line in the centre third. This will prevent congestion in the goal third and give the WD and GD space to bring the ball through and consequently the ball carrier has an option of a team-mate ready to receive ball further up the court. The WD and GD are set up as shown. One of these players will cut across the other (taking her opponent with her). This creates space for the other player to drive into with the opponents chasing. The player who drives across (this is called clearing out) continues to run in a crest shape and offers for the next pass. The subsequent pass may well go to the Centre and by now the ball should be 2/3rd up the court in 3 passes. If the timing is correct the ball should travel up the court in a straight line. The team has successfully converted good defence work into an exciting attack.

Set up two equal lines of players, stood behind the post.Each player has to run out to a cone on the edge of the shooting circle where they then receive a pass landing with one-two footwork. Players then take a shot, and collect the rebound.After collecting their own rebound players rotate positions. The shooter goes to edge of the shooting circle with the ball and the player previously outside the shooting circle joins the back of the line.Drill then continues.

How do you get the shooters to passI have a 9 year old team and the shooter will not pass the ball and thinks that scoring the goals is important instead of playing as a team and getting closer to circle.

Does anyone have any exercises or drills to stop my girls passing to th other team??

Does anyone have any exercises or drills to stop an entire team of girls from passing the ball to the defenders instead of their own team mates...? THey can all throw a pass to each other in training, I've tried adding pressure situations where they have defenders to evade to replicate the real game but in games they cannot seem to get it together...help!

hi guys, im jada i just made it into a rep team but i want to get even better with my movement in the circle, i'am a goal shooter and i'm really tall 5, 10 to be exact i'm also only twelve years old but i want to be unstoppable as a shooter because i hate being second. so could you please help me on anything to do with getting free like dodging or something just some sneaky tricks?? thanks guys regards jada

Breaking a defensive zone in goals?

Hi, my team is having issues breaking a defensive zone where the GD and GK sit high in our attack end and play an area rather than players, we tried manning up on them but just crowded the attack end and didn't work?  If we lob over them the other defender drops back and picks up the intercept, same when we pass to the corners.  Any advice will be gratefully received!
