What is the best way to defend a holding shooter?

What is the best way to defend a holding shooter. At the moment I am trying to get my Keeper to keep moving around the holding shooter, mixing up going behind and infront, so the feeder isn't 100% sure what the holding space is. But am struglling to think of some drills to instill the movements into the circle defenders. Look forward to hearing your fantastic suggestions, Donna

Motivating players of different abilities....

We are a very small club, only 10 to 15 players and range from complete beginners to quite skilled players. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we can keep all our players motivated and move everyone forward? Should we separate different abilities or mix everyone up and hope for the best? Thanks

Keeping girls motivated when losing every game in comp

Hi, I'm co-coaching an U13 team. The players are a mix of experienced, but mostly inexperienced players, with a couple of players who are really talented (these are two of our inexperienced players). All players are new to each other. The girls won every game at the district grading days and we were upgraded two levels. We are now in round 6 of the competition and the girls have lost every game and we just lost from the team that was below them on the ladder. We've had a couple of injuries and one was quite bad in round 4 requiring surgery which has shaken the girls as well. They are starting to lose heart and their game is deteriorating. How do we keep them motivated?

Basic attacking strategy for 11 year olds

Help, dad thrown in the deep end - what basic attacking strategies do you use for 11 years olds? They have great skill and have played since they were 5 years old, but still run around like headless chickens, everyone calling for the ball and getting in each other's way. Is there a method to this madness I can teach? Some teams look like they know who is going to pass to who and the ball gets from one end to the other fluidly. Goal Defence defending shooter tips

Hello - i am looking for a few GD tips on the best way to defend a shooter that receives the ball a couple of ways as i always struggle to get around them when they do these moves! First way is that the shooter lunges out very wide (practically doing the splits) to receive the ball from the feeder on the circle edge and steps back closer to the net with the foot that is closest. I can defend her getting close to the net, but then she turns to the feeder and jumps and splits - thus always ending up close to the net. The second way is when the shooter stays quite stationery under the net, a couple of foot off the back line and holds her space there. she receives the ball by a large over head pass, so she steps back slightly on one leg to receive the ball from the feeder. what would be the best way to defend all the large overhead long passes to her, or draw her out? any help or some ideas i can try would be great! thank you :-)

How do I stop face marking..? ...

Help... I am new to coaching netball albeit have played for years. My experience in playing comes from being an attacker so trying to work with my defence, is proving tricky. The issue I have is that both my GD and GK face mark. I have tried numerous drills in training however as soon as they get in to a match, they revert back to face marking. When the ball is coming down the court, I encourage them to stay on their toes, side marking and moving in front and round the back however when the GA or the GS moves out, the face marking starts. We have had balls bounce of the backs of heads and all sorts. Does anyone have any tips?  Di

Throw in round back of post to...

When throwing in from the baseline inside the circle can you pass the ball behind the post to a player on the other side of the post. Can't see anything in the rules saying you have to throw in front of the post on the side you are standing on (where ball went out),.
