I have thoroughly enjoyed using your site to help me with my coaching plans for my under 9's netball team.
Does anyone have some good rebounding drills for GD/GK
is there much extra training in south wales, monmouthshire area for keen new player's like myself.
I have a player who tends to hang back behind her partner in games, and then tries to move into position to receive a pass. She signals that she is free but doesn't move quickly enough into position so often loses the ball.No matter how many times we work on this at training, when it comes to the actual games she reverts to her standard play but then gets upset when nobody passes to her. She is fast losing confidence as the other players on the team are all moving beyond her level and she is aware of this. Any ideas?
Is there a system for rotating 9 girls through each position fairly each week
What is the best way to teach the positions to 8 year old first time players?
I have two brand new player to introduce to a year 5 team. Both new players are very shy and seem afraid to get involved in the game. How do I build their confidence and what positions would be best to introduce them to? Thanks
In the drills GK dancing & Prevent the Middle Pass..is the defence Open Marking(angled toward the passer)? If they are closed marking is this a progression? Is it harder? I prefer closed marking but for a beginner is this going to be harder? Thanks. I am new to coaching & loving Sportplan:)
Because my co-coach and I are only 15/16 years old, we are only a few years older than the girls we coach (who are 11-12). This is useful in our ability to relate, but is not when we are trying to be serious and get a point across. We tend to joke around a bit at training in order to make them as enjoyable as possible, but as soon as we try to be serious, the girls assume we are telling them off and sometimes get upset. We have already had parent issues in relation to positions, so we do not want anymore complaints from the parents or girls. If anyone has advice it would be much appreciated, thanks.
Does there have to be enough room for a defending player to move in between the distance that the ball travels when a GS/GA plays the ball off the post from either the back line or from within the shooting circle (short pass)?
I am part of a social netball team and some of our players play for a competitive league. They have recently been taught by their coach this technique as GD and GK to scream out, really loudly, phrases such as "RIGHT" "LEFT" "IVE, GOT THIS" as the GS or GA are in the process of shooting. They say that it's not demeaning phrases such as "MISS" and "PSYCH" so it's not intimidating, yet they are using it as a technique to put us off shooting. Should this be allowed or should it be called up for intimidation?

I have a new player and we don't have a WD so I was thinking to put her into a WD.
we have a new netball team at school (10yo & 11yo) most of who have never played netball before. What kind of drills can we do to help them with their breaking and getting infront of their player to get the ball??
Say I have been called up for obstruction in the circle and the shooter then has the ball and moves to the space where the umpire has said. I was standing where I believed the infringement occured but the umpire told me to move up with the player. Am I allowed to stay where I was or do I have to step up as well? ( She was literally a step infront of me ) Asked using Sportplan Mobile App
I am a new coach who has a team of 8 under 9âs. 4 have played before 4 have not. How should I rotate them so they all get a equal time on court and should I put the same player all in attack for the whole game and all in defense for the whole game to make it less confusing for them. I am new to coaching this year and have a couple of girls who struggle to catch the ball despite 3 yrs of playing. One is quite scared and the other does not have good gross motor skills. Any suggestions on drills or games to improve these?
Would love some advice, I am a new coach about to start coaching 7-8 year olds who have never played netball before. I would love any advice you have for a new coach on how to structure the training session, any drills I should start with and fun ways to teach them the basic skills of netball
