Netball: lobs

Does anyone have a drill to encourage under 11's to come forward for a pass rather than asking for the overhead pass all the time as they are 'running away' from the ball in their haste to get to the circle?

WHat is the best way to have a defender defend against a much taller opponent. the question is with particular reference to the Goal Circle

hi i jut started playing GK for a local netball team and i am struggling abit, im not sure on what i can and cant do, ie jumping and waving my arms etc plz help

I'm a GS playing indoor netball (ie with astroturf and nets around the court). I'm planning on trying out for superleague and state next year, and I want to get some good training in. My local centre have said I can practice there any time I want. I can practice shooting by myself, but the areas I feel I need to work on are catching quick passes, catching angled/spinning passes off the net and breaking free of different style defenders. Any ideas on how I can work on these skills by myself?

Hi, my team is having issues breaking a defensive zone where the GD and GK sit high in our attack end and play an area rather than players, we tried manning up on them but just crowded the attack end and didn't work?  If we lob over them the other defender drops back and picks up the intercept, same when we pass to the corners.  Any advice will be gratefully received! Can anyone please give me some training ideas for defending the lob pass? Back in my days (too many ago to mention) we were taught to stand off and slightly to the side of the attack to discourage the lob being made. I haven't found much on the internet to help me with this one

How is the best way to defend a GS who is a foot taller than the GK and can hold faily well (and no exageration I have a very short team so putting a different defender wont change much )

My kids are 12 and they do not know how to move this always slows them down what do i do in training to get them to move?

The 163cm defender is great against regular height girls her age (ie 13) but I need some help with the tall girls (185 cm +). She jumps really well and is constantly with the player. She reads the play well but it is almost soul destroying to see the opposition lob the ball into the tall girl who stands and waits for the shot.

We are playing in n a grand final this week and the opposition has a very tall GS and holds very well. I am thinking of getting my defences to double team her but wanting to know best way to teach this & also what's the best way of stopping the GA (just getting WD & c to try & block her getting in the ring) any thoughts on best way to beat a tall shooter. The girls are 13 but played a lot of netball. Thanks

What is the best way to intercept a lob out in mid court and also goal circle?

I currently coach an u/11 division 3 netball team. I find that possession is frequently lost with held ball calls and passes that do not reach the player that they were intended for. The girls always look to lob the ball to each other which I instruct them not to do and remind them to come forward for a pass however they always stay behind their players and I do not know what to do. I have taught them breaking styles such as pushing off their left foot and running in the opposite direction, but they do not seem to be using this in games. Are there any ideas that I can use to make breaking fun and more memorable so that they are more likely to try it in games?

My teams is playing opposition this week who has a very good GD who is a master floater. Last time we played them we played into her hands and lost by 2 and I want to have a few tactics for this week.We also had a young player fill-in WA last time which didn't help as she was unfamiliar with our team. I was trying to get the players to look for our GA who was often free but I think she was playing too close to the goal circle which made things a bit crowded. I think also that once my players realised what the GD was doing, they started to hesitate on the pass.Our GS is reasonably tall and has a good hold so if we can get a good high pass into her before the GD can drop back that may help.Any other suggestions? During my class session, few of my students are poor in lob passing. Their technique of passing is wrong. How can I improve their lob passing skill, with an interesting games approach?
