WHat is the best way to have a defender defend against a much taller opponent. the question is with particular reference to the Goal Circle
Hi, my team is having issues breaking a defensive zone where the GD and GK sit high in our attack end and play an area rather than players, we tried manning up on them but just crowded the attack end and didn't work? If we lob over them the other defender drops back and picks up the intercept, same when we pass to the corners. Any advice will be gratefully received! Cheers Keli
We are playing in n a grand final this week and the opposition has a very tall GS and holds very well. I am thinking of getting my defences to double team her but wanting to know best way to teach this & also what's the best way of stopping the GA (just getting WD & c to try & block her getting in the ring) any thoughts on best way to beat a tall shooter. The girls are 13 but played a lot of netball. Thanks

Defending a lob into the goal circle
What is the best way to intercept a lob out in mid court and also goal circle?
Can anyone suggest a drill to practise holding defence in circle for lob pass?
best way to teach defending a lob pass. My girls are very short so opposing teams constantly lob.
The 163cm defender is great against regular height girls her age (ie 13) but I need some help with the tall girls (185 cm +). She jumps really well and is constantly with the player. She reads the play well but it is almost soul destroying to see the opposition lob the ball into the tall girl who stands and waits for the shot.
Under 13's playing in Grand Final next week and other team rely heavily on lobbing to tall goal shooter. Asked using Sportplan Mobile App
How do i defend a very tall large shooter who continues to get lob passes. Asked using Sportplan on Mobile
I'm training for the State League/U17 tryouts next year and I want to know what abilities the really good GSs have, like clean breaking within the circle, high shooting goal percentage etc. Does anyone have any exercises/drills that I would be able to do by myself or with one or two people to build up skills like breaking? (Sportplan's drills are mainly based on coaching an entire team, and I can't supply that many people to train with me %3A( ) Thankyou in advance,Belladonna And nice to meet the netball lovers on this site %3A) I don't have any friends who love netball as much as me...
How do you get the Goal Defence staying with the Goal Attack, especially when the Goal Attack drops down behind the Goal Defence and gets the ball all the time in the Goal Circle? How do you get the Defence in the Goal Circle to rebound and how do you get the Goal Shooters following their shot and rebound?
How do you beat a player that is blocking/face defending an attacker who is finding it hard to get free? Particularly when they are trying to go forward into the space for the ball.

Does anyone have any tactics on how our GS can get around a very tall GK and shoot? The GK is 6ft 5" with very long arms and our GS is 5ft 4"!! Any tips or tactics would be appreciated! Thanks :-) x
Does anyone have a drill to encourage under 11's to come forward for a pass rather than asking for the overhead pass all the time as they are 'running away' from the ball in their haste to get to the circle?
What is the best way for a Goal Keeper to defend, especially within the semi circle. ? Should they watch the ball then try to intercept any ball going to Goal Shooter or just mark up their partner?Submitted via email
Next week I'm due to play against two really talented defenders who are both very tall! One of them use to be my coach so I'm feeling the pressure- she's very quick and can push you to the edge of the circle well. What would be the best way to outwit her? I'm younger so I thought maybe my speed and fitness but I mainly play GS so I feel like I need something else?Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
