Netball: games for kids

hi guys. i am the coach of a year 6/7/8 primary team, this year i picked an extra large squad of 13 girls as we are a small town and didnt want to turn anyone away. i have 2 players that are by far the standouts of the team. at beginning of season i explained due to numbers no one would get full games and two people would stand down per week which has so far worked well. however now the parents think i should be playing these two girls all the time for full games so we can win the grade like last year. the two girls will leave for college next year and i fear giving them all the game time will discourage my young up and comers and i will then be left with nothing next year. i also think some parents are unaware if i do this it will be their children that are on the sideline. is it better to have many kids playing some netball than just some playing lots??? please help

I am coaching U/9 team that has just started this season. We have just recruited another girl and so now we have 9 children playing. I want to give everyone an opportunity to play different positions, without confusing them! How can I rotate the positions to give 8 players a quarter off without disrupting the team too much?

Help me please, I am coaching 11 yrs and have one member of my team who is making nasty comments towards most of my other team members, before I am forced to raise this issue with her parent (who is never in attendance, only drop off and pick up, and I dont think she would be the easiest parent to deal with either) I am hoping someone can give me some ideas on how to deal with this, should I ask her to sit out or should I try to include her more to force a better relationship, when I have asked her if we can make an effort to play as a team she is clearly telling me, Its not her fault and that she is reacting to others, but i know this is not true, I dont think she will except she is doing anything wrong, if fact she is my biggest trouble maker when it comes to talking, not litening and being disrespectful, to me her team and once even an umpire (at training) HELP PLEASE its upsetting my girls %3A(

I have a u/14 team with no netbal experience. I myself have never played netbal before. How do I start and what is the most important rules and patterns they need to know?

Is they any  drills  i can implement at training for chatter boxers  and the team forgetting the basic skills in a game of netball. i.e. defending their players through the game, foot work, throwing a ball to team members getting in fron t of the players , no even talking to each otheretc                                                   Its very frustrating when theses girls are  13/15 year olds and are  lazy .     

How do I help my 11-12 year olds to focus?

Game 3 this week and now down to 5 players with the GS GK C out with hand/arm injuries. I still expect all players to turn up to practice.Only 3/8 turned up last week and I wasn't very happy.Others need to fill gaps these players could help.Now I need to rethink training.now that I have requested everyone come, what drills can I do that are ball less.Unfortunately due to age and high visibility of the courts at lunch asking them to visualise would not happen. They are young and I don't want to jeopardise healing for them. It is a shame this has happened early in season as I do think we had an opportunity to do really well, never mind. Always next year

How do I motivate my u/9 girls to continue practicing and playing netball? They are playing for a 2nd season and have not won a game yet. They only starting playing netball last year for the 1st time.

Are the rules for Sub-Juniors that same as those for Juniors or Netta?  Haven't got our rule books as yet and have our first training session this week! Any advise appreciated!

I am coaching a Year 2 netball team for the first time. Unfortunately, during games sometimes the ball naturally spends quite a bit of time down one end of the court. One child is losing enthusiasm as a result. Any suggestions to keep them enthusiastic when this happens? We rotate players at least each half and all get to play an equal amount in each position per Netta rules.

Need some quick easy netball drills for year 4 kids

Hi I have a new team of 7/8 year olds and we have one very weak player that doesn't move or listen nor catch the ball. Any advice? I need to play her in all positions as they move around to learn them all but feel she needs to learn one at a time. She says she just wants to shoot but that's difficult when she can't catch. Hello. I am a 14 year old girl. I have never umpired before, and i am expected to umpire this weekend.  I will be starting on 10-12 year olds. As you can see i dont have much experience at umpiring and i am pretty nervous that im going to stuff up or call the wrong award for the infringment that occured. I have read the Netball Australia umpiring book but some of the words are too fomral for my liking, i dont quiet undertsand. ANY TIPS PLEASE?!

My associate coach and I disagree on whether U/10s should play different positions or focus/settle on one, maybe two. I don't want to put the girls in a box at such a young age but I also don't want a Jack of all Trades situation. They are still developing so much that I feel I'll be doing them a disservice by just putting them in the same position every week. The assistant coach says if we move them around we're not going to do as well but that is where the participation vs performance comes in for me. Surely at this age development is more important than winning?No coach likes to lose but I don't want to win at the expense of them experiencing different positions. What do you guys suggest? Hi I have a player who has recently taken up another sport and cannot attend training at all but can attend the weekend game. We are half way through the season. I am not sure whether its fair to give this player as much game time as the other girls and just wanted to know what other coaches might do in this situation. Thanks
