I have thoroughly enjoyed using your site to help me with my coaching plans for my under 9's netball team.
Hi, I am a 13 year old girl who plays netball every Saturday. I have been playing netball as a centre since I was about 9 yrs old. When I moved teams I changed to GA cause they needed a GA. I had also been playing basketball so when I moved into GA I shot like a basketballer. I only just recently started trying to shoot like a netballer, but it is't really working. Our GS is usually the player that shoots most of our goals but she broke 2 fingers and is out for the finals. I need some advice to help me to be a better GA and step up a shoot lots of goals to see our team go into the grand final.I need help learning to shoot better but my coach is young and plays defence. p.s. I am the only other shooter in my team.
9 players - 4 girls off half a game each week or 2 players off per quarter? I coach a 10 yrs team in a very close A grade competition. There are 9 players therefore 2 reserves are needed each quarter. Is it best to have 4 girls off for half a game each week, less disruption to team but best players are then off for half a game - girls are off every second week, or 2 girls off each quarter, more disruption but best players are only off for quarter of a game, girls are off every week. I am required to give all players equal time on the court throughout the season. Thank you.
Can someone please advise me on where can I locate sound information on court systems? Thanks. Wendy
I have short defenders and we will be playing a team in the finals that has a 6ft goalie. Looking for advise on the best way to stop the giant goalie.
I coach an under 11 team and we have only lost twice this season, both times to the same team. We are playing them next week in the semi final, how can I motivate my girls to believe they can win? I believe they can but because we haven't beat them yet they believe we will lose. Any ideas would be great.
Hi all, just checking what people's thoughts are on either playing the best combination or giving everyone equal time during a finals series. Throughout the season, everyone has been given a fairly equal run but I'm not sure what to do in the finals and would like to hear people's ideas. Thanks
I have 9 players majority with quite a good skill level and a few need of a bit more training. In terms of time on the court how would I rotate them? I usually leave the strongest side on and all players get 3 quarters and a few get the whole game. Is this fair or does anyone have any suggestions? I have always taken the best on approach - particularly when they are so driven on winning!
Hi there, I coach an under 10 netball team and have rotated the team fairly throughout the season. We have now qualified for finals and am wondering if I should play my strongest team?
Hi there we are through to the semi finals this weekend. Our team got pulled up many times for Stepping and contact and I would like to focus on this in our training session tomorrow - they are U10's so nothing to complex please
Hi Everyone - anyone got any tips for motivational chats before big games and at half time? My team are 2nd on the ladder but can lose their bundle when faced with tough opponents or rain. We're in the last round of the season and going to make the finals,...any tips for motivational chats. Girls are Juniors, between 2 and 4 seasons of experience and of average ability in a middle grade (none of them will play for Australia but they generally try hard and love the game).
does we play strongest team in finals
I've just had my last game of netball and my team is in for the finals, and we won. we are undefeated. first we have semi then preliminary and then grand finals. P.S i have camp on the week i have the grand finals and we come back on Thursday. should i eat healthy during camp?
How do you roster a 10 player team so everyone gets fair game time
How should i prepare myself for the semi finals? we are versing a team that is well matched and we have versed them before. we won, but only by 2 goals and apparently that team was having a bad day. i'm super nervous, and want to be ready for the game.what kind of training should i do at home? we don't have a lot of space outside and we don't have any equipment e.g ladders, cones etc. i so desperately want to win and get into the grand final. but i also have exams coming up, so i need to balance my time.thanks for your help!

Hi, My two team of girls are having a great season and will be heading into finals in 6 rounds, as a coach this is first time i have coached finals. My question is about positions and subs, do you play fair all over for the whole game or do you put your best team on court for most of the game, playing those that don't fit into the best line up on for minimum time - like the first quarter?i have one team of 8 (Age group Under 19's) , and one team of 9 Seniors (A2) which i play/coach in? Any tips would be helpful.
I have a team of 12 girls; 3 goalers, 2 defenders and the rest centre court. We will make it into the finals series and as a result i have talked to the girls in an open discussion about what kind of stratergies they would like to use come finals. This included a vote on how we should field the team, even court time for all or play to win, fielding our best team based on training attendance and behavior at training, commitment, sportsmanship and how they are generally playing on the night. Only 2 of the 12 voted even court time and we had further discussion and clarification or question and everyone was sent home happy. However i have one Mother who i cannot please no matter how hard i try who is fighting this decision, her daughter complained yet voted play to win> I don;t know what i should do, i like the girls to learn to make decisions in a team setting by themselves and learn about the outcomes of such decisions but at the same time i don't want angry parent(s)! HELP!!
