Hi, my team is having issues breaking a defensive zone where the GD and GK sit high in our attack end and play an area rather than players, we tried manning up on them but just crowded the attack end and didn't work? If we lob over them the other defender drops back and picks up the intercept, same when we pass to the corners. Any advice will be gratefully received! Cheers Keli

My friend coaches an under 13s team and when someone has the ball they all run for it like seagulls going for bread. The coach has told them many times to spread out and for not everyone to run to the ball at once but the girls keep doing it and they can't get the ball down the court.
Help... I am new to coaching netball albeit have played for years. My experience in playing comes from being an attacker so trying to work with my defence, is proving tricky. The issue I have is that both my GD and GK face mark. I have tried numerous drills in training however as soon as they get in to a match, they revert back to face marking. When the ball is coming down the court, I encourage them to stay on their toes, side marking and moving in front and round the back however when the GA or the GS moves out, the face marking starts. We have had balls bounce of the backs of heads and all sorts. Does anyone have any tips? Di
What are some good things to say to a team who are losing by a fair amount at halftime.?? They are 12 years old. How can i get them to keep motivated & not give up??
My associate coach and I disagree on whether U/10s should play different positions or focus/settle on one, maybe two. I don't want to put the girls in a box at such a young age but I also don't want a Jack of all Trades situation. They are still developing so much that I feel I'll be doing them a disservice by just putting them in the same position every week. The assistant coach says if we move them around we're not going to do as well but that is where the participation vs performance comes in for me. Surely at this age development is more important than winning?No coach likes to lose but I don't want to win at the expense of them experiencing different positions. What do you guys suggest? Hi Everyone - anyone got any tips for motivational chats before big games and at half time? My team are 2nd on the ladder but can lose their bundle when faced with tough opponents or rain. We're in the last round of the season and going to make the finals,...any tips for motivational chats. Girls are Juniors, between 2 and 4 seasons of experience and of average ability in a middle grade (none of them will play for Australia but they generally try hard and love the game).
I play school and state netball as a GK/GD, when my other player is defending the GS or GA, I hold on to her defenders leg/hand for an extra lean. Because I'm quite larger and taller than most girls and already have a pretty good lean, when I ask my defender to hold me so that i am closer to deflecting the shot, she uses two of her hands and her body strength to hold me. My coach told me not to do this because she believed I wasn't allowing myself nor my other player to get an intercept or rebound, even though we had gotten most rebounds and had gotten a few intercepts with this technique. Is this an disadvantage or advantage to us?
