Some people lack aggression and enthusism how can you solve this?
Is they any drills i can implement at training for chatter boxers and the team forgetting the basic skills in a game of netball. i.e. defending their players through the game, foot work, throwing a ball to team members getting in fron t of the players , no even talking to each otheretc Its very frustrating when theses girls are 13/15 year olds and are lazy .
I am just wondering if anyone has a good fitness lesson for U.13's. I've got a new team with some super fit girls and some very unfit girls. Their skills are as widely mixed as their fitness abilities and I'm struggling knowing what I can do to accommodate all girls. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My girls start the game with a good positive attitude but near the end of the game lost cofidence in there ability on court.

What are some good things to say to a team who are losing by a fair amount at halftime.?? They are 12 years old. How can i get them to keep motivated & not give up??
Hi, I'm co-coaching an U13 team. The players are a mix of experienced, but mostly inexperienced players, with a couple of players who are really talented (these are two of our inexperienced players). All players are new to each other. The girls won every game at the district grading days and we were upgraded two levels. We are now in round 6 of the competition and the girls have lost every game and we just lost from the team that was below them on the ladder. We've had a couple of injuries and one was quite bad in round 4 requiring surgery which has shaken the girls as well. They are starting to lose heart and their game is deteriorating. How do we keep them motivated?
I currently play for and captain a team and often run some training sessions during the summer for my team. There are quite a few things I think we could work on and also things the ladies want to focus on too. Sometimes I think I have had overloaded sessions e.g. too many drills and not enough time to complete them properly and then to have a mini game to put it all in practice at the end. For an hour session, how many drill sessions do you think would be ideal and is it better to focus on say a couple of skills per session?
I will be regularly coaching a group of Back to Netball ladies (aged 16 plus) and have been told that there are approx. 30 signed up (prob end up with 20 regulars). I have a session planned for them tonight as a starter for ten but I am conscious that with such numbers when it comes to court time at the end of a session e.g. game time some won't be able to participate on court. For tonight (and partly because I'm told these ladies are new to netball) I'm going to be getting those sat off court to do some observation of basic rules e.g. give each a card with a rule on it and see if they spot anything during the game play. Some can also help with scoring. Then I'm having people subbed on and off every 5 mins so all get some game time. Are there any other suggestions from people about managing such a large group with just one court available? The rest of the session is fine as they can all join in the warm up, skills sessions and warm down.
Im currently coaching 10 - 12 yr old girls, I need some tips on how to keep them focused on the game (stop daydreaming). They seem to "daydream" or their eyes wander when they have thrown the ball and its no longer down their end.
Hi, I am new to coaching, but have played all my life.I have taken on a team of 13 year olds this year, and am enjoying it. I have a few challenges, but the main one is that one of my key players, GK, has ADD/ADHD. She is the tallest girl on the team, and would be so effective if she just tried. She doesn't try. She doesn't engage with me or the other players. I have given her plenty of positive feedback, in the hopes that she will be boosted by that, I even partnered with her tonight at our training session, just to see how she would go. In the warm up with me, she was great, kept up and stayed enthused. When we started running drills and working on different things, she just doesn't even appear to be engaged. I know she is medicated when she comes to training, but I need her to switch on in a game situation. At the end of our training sessions, we always play a small game, and she just loses her enthusiasm and just doesn't try. I'm looking for ways to help and encourage her. Any ideas or suggestions welcome!!

My associate coach and I disagree on whether U/10s should play different positions or focus/settle on one, maybe two. I don't want to put the girls in a box at such a young age but I also don't want a Jack of all Trades situation. They are still developing so much that I feel I'll be doing them a disservice by just putting them in the same position every week. The assistant coach says if we move them around we're not going to do as well but that is where the participation vs performance comes in for me. Surely at this age development is more important than winning?No coach likes to lose but I don't want to win at the expense of them experiencing different positions. What do you guys suggest? I have just been given a team of 10 (10yo girls) to manage. As a parent who has not played for a number of years, can you point me in the right direction on this site for position selection for the game. It is an 8 week summer comp and the girls are happy to have a go at all the positions. They play a winter comp and have a proper coach. I have been asked to help as she is not available for this comp

Hi Everyone - anyone got any tips for motivational chats before big games and at half time? My team are 2nd on the ladder but can lose their bundle when faced with tough opponents or rain. We're in the last round of the season and going to make the finals,...any tips for motivational chats. Girls are Juniors, between 2 and 4 seasons of experience and of average ability in a middle grade (none of them will play for Australia but they generally try hard and love the game).
