Agility - Circle edge driving

Agility progression to circle. 5 cones, half court, 1+ players. 1. Cones are lay out in a diamond formation. Player starts at top of diamone, drives straight to top cone, back towards left cone, and straight drive to circle edge with strong bent knees. 2. Add in defence. Players run the same ilnes but a defende is added in to 'shadow'. 3. Bring in ball, remove the defender. Player still running the same lines. Player recieves a pass from the feeder at the circle edge. 4. Both players run the drill, both splitting seperate ways after first drive. Ball can be delivered at different points.

This drill enables players to begin to link the movement patterns up the court from the centre pass. 2 lines of players beginning in the centre third, 1 shooter and 1 defender in the shooting area. Players in 1 line have a ball each, player in opposite line sprints to receive a pass on the circle edge. Feeder (after passing ball) also drives to circle edge to support the first attacking player. Meanwhile the attacking player with the ball passes to the shooter and makes a shot for goal. Players then join the back of the line and the next pair attack.

4+ players set up on half court. One stationary feeder to set up in front of the centre circle with the ball. One defender to hover just inside the shooting third.Two attacking players, one from each sideline, run to meet in the middle, high five and then run out in a "V" to space.Defender to pick up either of the attackers.Feeder delivers the ball to the free attacker. They are to then pass to the attacker with the defender on them. The attacker needs to work hard to receive this pass on the circle edge. Play the ball back with the defender receiving the next pass and back to feeder.

End drill – Feeding into circleSet up: four corners of 2-3 players, 1 ball, goal third end of court.Aim for the two groups of players on transverse line to hit the circle edge and feed ball into the circle to a shooter with a defending player.Bottom left corner (A) player drives out along sideline. Receives a pass from the defending player in the circle.Player from top left corner (B) drives straight into the court to receive a pass from the sideline player. Player B passes back to player A and drives towards the circle edge where player A delivers a long ball to player B as close to the circle edge they can get. Set Up: Two balls, four cones, 4-6 players. Cones set up as a diamond, the two feeders opposite each other with a ball each. Two players in the middle as attackers/receivers. Attackers use ‘little feet’ to move around the other attacker in the middle. Attackers then split and drive to the outside cones. Feeders deliver a ball into the middle of the diamond. Attackers receive the pass from their right and move around the other attacker with ball in hand to deliver the ball to the opposite feeder.

AUDIO DESCRIPTTION ON Set up: One third, shooting end of court. One ball 5+ players Two players stand on base line with the ball. Three stationary feeders assembled as a triangle facing the shooting circle (two either side of circle and one at the transverse line). Description: Players on base line: Player closest to feeder passes the ball to standing feeder at side of circle. Both players drive out from base line. Player who passed the ball drives around the feeder who was just passed to (diagonal drive). Other player drives towards the stationary feeder near transverse line (straight drive), they need to prepare to receive a pass. First feeder catches and delivers a pass to the forward driving player before they get to the stationary feeder. The driving player with ball now passes ahead to the stationary feeder at the transverse line. The first initial driver has driven around first feeder and aims for a cross court straight drive to the final feeder. Stationary feeder at transverse line delivers a pass to the initial driver which will be received mid court. Initial driving player passes to the last stationary feeder in front of them and continues to drive around them. Other driving player would have driven around the transverse standing feeder and drives straight back towards base line and will receive a pass from the last stationary feeder midcourt before sending the last pass to the other driving player.

Set up: 1 third space (width), 3 players, 4 cones, 1 ball.3 cones are set up midway across the width of the court in a gentle V shape, another cone is placed in line with the middle cone about 5 m in a straight line.One player ( the feeder) stands on the lone cone with the ball. The other 2 players stand on the opposing sideline. The feeder calls ‘go’ and the two players runs traght out to the first cone and then split in a V to the cone on their side. The feeder decides who to pass to. Focus is on speed ones the two players split.

Body Angles- 5 Points Movement...

Players set up like five points on a die- these are the feeders. Workers start in the middle facing out to one of the feeders who has the ball. Worker recieves a pass in the middle and passes back. They then drive on an angle towards the the far point on the same side as the ball ensuring they can see the ball and body angle is indicating where they would like the ball. Feeder sends a long pass to the point the worker is heading to.Worker then passes a long pass to the far diagonal feeder. They then front cut the middle point to receive another pass on the drive and pass back to the feeder. Once again they turn body angle to see the ball as well as indicate where they are heading and drive to the last far point on the die and receive a long pass from the feeder. Repeting again, the long diagonal pass and front cut for the pass in the middle. Roatate players after player makes a few successful run-throughs.

Set up: Goal third, 1 ball, 1 passer, 2 midcourt, 1 shooter, 2-3 defence.Ball starts with passer behind transverse line.Both midcourt players drive from the transverse line to circle edge then back off again (creating the ‘M’).Passer delivers ball to one of the midcourt players off the circle who then delivers the second ball to the other midcourt plyer on the circle edge. <em>Option: Passer candeliver directly to shooter who may choose to come out of the circle. Shooter then is </em><em>to deliver a pass to a midcourter and get into position.</em>Ball delivered to shooter, who puts the shot up.

Feeder starts with the ball and gives a short pass.Worker returns pass and drives down the court to receive a long pass. Worker passess the ball to the opposite feeder on half way.Worker runs around feeder.Worker receives a pass on the go and passes back to the original feeder on the baseline to then get a short pop pass to finish.

One player, the feeder, starts on the edge of the circle. The other player, the worker (number 1 in the diagram) runs around one of the cones set out on the edge of the shooting circle, then drives back into the circle to receive the ball before making the shot. Shooter collects the successful shot or rebound, passes back out to the feeder and repeats with an alternative cone.

Set up two equal lines of players, stood behind the post.Each player has to run out to a cone on the edge of the shooting circle where they then receive a pass landing with one-two footwork. Players then take a shot, and collect the rebound.After collecting their own rebound players rotate positions. The shooter goes to edge of the shooting circle with the ball and the player previously outside the shooting circle joins the back of the line.Drill then continues.

Description:Note: The video shows the drill being played out with 2 groups of players, you could just focus on one group i.e. 1 line, 1 V driver. The description is based on one group. Player on base line near shooting post, V drives towards court edge and receives a pass from the player in the line with the ball. Player who passes the ball drives directly to the circle edge in a straight line and receives a pass from the player who has driven out on the V. Player who had initially drove out now drives into a position under the hoop to receive a pass from their player and put a shot up.

How do you teach Gk and GD to talk?

How do you teach GK and GD to talk? I know I need to teach my 14yr olds to communicate in the circle, but what exactly should they be saying? And how do I teach them to switch partners in the circle when they need to rather than getting caught out focussing too much on one player? Using stratagies in netball

Hi, i am predominantly a U12yrs coach but i want to transition in to coaching the high school girls. I love all these drills and session plans and have found them very helpful, but i am looking now for information on strategies used in netball eg/strategic positioning of players when changing from attacking to suddenly defending after a turnover, or when should the GA drop back . when to use a zone defence or side-on defence. All these questions that aren't covered by drills. Is there somewhere to get this info or is it just learn as u go. Thank you

GS/GA Movement to get into a shooting position

Hi everyone, I'm a GS/GA and I shoot well but I struggle to make opportunities for myself to shoot in games. It is slightly better when I play GS if i stay in the circle, but when I play GA or come out, it has happened that I haven't shot at all. I either get blocked from going in the circle straight away or am too slow to position myself. Could anyone give me some pointers about basic movement? I have watching videos where players roll/cut - if a player is marking you face on and blocking you from entering the D, would that be how I get around them? how to protect yourself as gs/ga from defense in circle

I was playing GS today and marked by a very tall GK. As I was watching the ball come forward, I moved to the top of the D but she didn't stay with me and remained behind me. I couldn't see her and was unsure if I should stay close to her to be aware of where I could move, or to just move where I wanted. My back was turned to her as I was facing where the ball was, should I be side on to see her in my peripheral vision but not stay with her, or should I keep marking her to hold her then come forward when appropriate? I would be grateful for any advice, thank you,
