I have thoroughly enjoyed using your site to help me with my coaching plans for my under 9's netball team.
How do you get the shooters to passI have a 9 year old team and the shooter will not pass the ball and thinks that scoring the goals is important instead of playing as a team and getting closer to circle.
Does anyone have a drill to encourage under 11's to come forward for a pass rather than asking for the overhead pass all the time as they are 'running away' from the ball in their haste to get to the circle?
What are some good defence drills for WD and GD when defending the opponents centre pass
Attacking Centre pass - what are the best moves/strategies to use for adult teams?

If my C and GD block the GA so that she can't get into her attacking third is that okay. They are basically facing them and getting in their way so that it makes it hard for the GA to get free? Also, if the GA then runs into one of my defenders and the ball is just about to be shot by their GS do I pull it up as a free pass in the centre third or do I presume that it does not affect the movement of the ball and let the GS continue with their shot?
need help planning 4 linked session plans for my group of girls age 16-18 mixed ability
How do I break a zone defence, set up over our defence transverse line and dropping back into the centre third?
I coach 16 and 17 yr olds, so they are more than capable. I have one girl who already knows what do but her explanations are terrible and I dont know how to explain it to the rest of the team.
I have an Under 9 Team with a mixed bag of some good skill level and understanding and others that have very basic skills/Understanding. We have played 3 games this season and won 2. I know all the areas I want to focus on eg,Ball Skills, Footwork, Defending, Attacking, Zones, throw ins, centre passes eg, but is there an order I should create my session plans with these skills flow onto each other. Thanks
what communication is more important in netball verbal or non verbal?????????????
We are playing summer comp (13 yr old girls). We have one shooter with a broken finger, and usually one other is injured or sick each week leaving us weekly with 5 players only. Which 2 positions do I not fill? Another coach told me WA and WD but I feel it just gives us both a weak attacking and a week defending team. I'm now thinking of putting the girls in attack only (GS GA WA C) with one girl in defence- GD ( and our centre covering the WD position from the other teams centre pass) This way we increase our chances of scoring from our own centre pass and still have someone defending their GA and WA from their centre pass in the hope of a intercept. Am I crazy??? Asked using Sportplan on Mobile
(I dont usually play WD,so i`m still getting used to the position. When defending the WA at the centre pass, should i be on the inside or the outside of my player on the line?). How do i defend on the goal circle and try and get intercepts?when should i leave my player and try and go for an intercept?
I'm a 17 year old centre and i have trouble defending as i am short any tricks to help me?

Defending off court player. When a player in general play goes off court to improve her position , does the defender HAVE to allow her onto the court ? OR can she block her from returning. Eg shooter on one side of the circle goes off court around the goalpost and tries to return to court on the other side but defender {on court} blocks her from returning. Is this legal ???
I play school and state netball as a GK/GD, when my other player is defending the GS or GA, I hold on to her defenders leg/hand for an extra lean. Because I'm quite larger and taller than most girls and already have a pretty good lean, when I ask my defender to hold me so that i am closer to deflecting the shot, she uses two of her hands and her body strength to hold me. My coach told me not to do this because she believed I wasn't allowing myself nor my other player to get an intercept or rebound, even though we had gotten most rebounds and had gotten a few intercepts with this technique. Is this an disadvantage or advantage to us?
Would like to know a set play in how to beat a wall zone in the centre.
