I'm training for the State League/U17 tryouts next year and I want to know what abilities the really good GSs have, like clean breaking within the circle, high shooting goal percentage etc. Does anyone have any exercises/drills that I would be able to do by myself or with one or two people to build up skills like breaking? Hi, I am struggling to locate some drills that I deliver on communication between my circle defensive unit. I have the forming a v around a single shooter with the back player directing the front defender. but maybe some space ownership drills would help with the communication and relationship between the players.I look forward to hearing some great ideas as always.Donna
I am looking for pre game drill ideas. in half a hour we warm up with dynamic stretching. Ball handling/passing then 2 or 3 team drills. What drills do you recommend for adult top level drills?
Our School netball coach resigned last night. I am an assistant coach for soccer, coach for volleyball, assistant coach for basketball and now will be a caretaker for our netball team due to play finals tomorrow. What makes a good netball defender? Whether it be WD, GD, GK.Also, how do you know what defending position is good for you? Right now, I am really struggling to know where I stand as a defender. Sometimes my coach puts me as WD or GK but I do not know which one I am better at.
what are the best ways for WD and C to effectively defend on the circle
i have begun to coach an under 11's team and they don't talk to each other or work as a team and i was wondering if there was any good tips to get them to do so?
How do you teach GK and GD to talk? I know I need to teach my 14yr olds to communicate in the circle, but what exactly should they be saying? And how do I teach them to switch partners in the circle when they need to rather than getting caught out focussing too much on one player? They're an awesome pair, and I think if we can address these two issues, they will be scary good. Thanks for any help. Heather.

We are playing in n a grand final this week and the opposition has a very tall GS and holds very well. I am thinking of getting my defences to double team her but wanting to know best way to teach this & also what's the best way of stopping the GA (just getting WD & c to try & block her getting in the ring) any thoughts on best way to beat a tall shooter. The girls are 13 but played a lot of netball. Thanks
Defending a lob into the goal circle
I am going to be playing against a short shooter in the next 2 games (I'm about 7inches taller than her) and I want to do some drills that will help me with defending the drop ball and low balls into the circle. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks, Siobhan

What a fantastic tool. The Chalkboard and session tools make an unbelievable difference in making training plans in both time and organization. I will be instructing all of my assistant coaches that this tool must be used for all sessions during the season, so that we may build a club coaching resource library.
