Teaching year 3's who have never played before - does anyone have some lessons plans I can work with?
I have just started coaching 20 9year olds at my daughters school. 18 of them havn't played any netball. I have started teaching them the basic ball handling skills, shooting and we are working on the rules. I have limited time to get them ready for their first game due to alot of our training days falling on public holidays. We had our first mini game at training last week and it was ciaos. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can try and teaching them the rules while having a mock game without a mass of confusion??
Hi i am new to teaching and im teaching netball to year 5. I have never taught this in my life! Please Help! Do you have to teach the full game or do can you play in mini teams eg 4 groups of 6 without using bibs and positiions. how do u teach 8yr olds every part of the game that don't know anything about the game
I have found that my players worked well as a group and also really enjoyed a Quiz about Netball (both rules and history of netball in general)but I have run out of questions, I usually only finish our training sessions with one question for each member of our team and use any the following week that they got wrong so they are learning at the same time. If you have any ideas please let me know as I have searched the web and every other resource I can find, Some of the questions I have used are How many seconds can you hold the ball? How far away do you need to be before arms go up to defend? How is a short pass measured? Where does a ball need to be touched first after a centre pass? Name 2 examples of Good spartsmanship? Name the 7 Positions in a Netball Game How many players on a Netball court during a Game? (trick question, usually andswered with 7, keeps them on their toes) In which Country did netball begin? What is the Name of the Australian Netball Team? What time do we turn up for a Game on Saturdays? If you land on 2 feet while catching the ball, which foot can you pivot on? PLease help, I need more questions, we still have a long year ahead %3A) Thanks

I coach u11's with 7 girls, 5 girls played last 3yrs & 2 new girls have never played netball before. What training drills & positions will be best for the 2 new girls (& team as a whole)? Asked using Sportplan on Mobile
I have a defender who always tips the ball out, never tries to catch with 2 hands to gain possession, how do I get her out of this bad habit? The same defender always looks down to ensure she is 3 feet before putting her hands over the ball. This takes only takes a second but normally the attacker has passed the ball before she looks up.
Hi, I play netball frequently, but I am trying out for some new teams and I want to know of some good one player netball drills. I have a wall I use and a hoop. I don't really want to use the ring as much because I wanted to trial as a centre player, but anything is helpful.
I'm coaching the very young team yr 1-3 age 6-9 and was wondering what's the best drills to teach them ball skills passing quick and basic rules? Thanks Mikaela
Hi does anyone have any good suggestions for Game to play for improving catching? I can't think of any conditions to add to a normal 7-aside.Help much appreciated!
Hi everyone, I have a few girls in a pretty strong under 13 team who start dropping balls when the pace gets fast and furious. The main issue seems to be trying to turn and look to where they are going to pass before they've got their hands firmly on the ball. Anyway have worked on drills that slow things down but this seems to go by the wayside as soon as their is another fast and furious game. Anyone got any thoughts? thanks Rebecca
I want to do a getting to know you netball based activity with a newly formed team of 9/10 year olds. Any suggestions? Thanks!
How can you make under 13s, under 15s, and under 17s training different as some players play on more than 1 team.
I am new to coaching this year and have a couple of girls who struggle to catch the ball despite 3 yrs of playing. One is quite scared and the other does not have good gross motor skills. Any suggestions on drills or games to improve these?

I'm Elena from Fiji and I'm 48 years of age,I'm playing in the premier netball and my daughter playing for school and club games with me.I would love to teach my daughter about shooting because she likes shooting, the movement, the double pass, throw in,in and out in the circle. She is playing wd now.I know she is a good shooter if I teach her and some of her mates. How do I motivate her to do her best in the court?
I'm coaching u/10's and have an excellent A team, but the B team have learners who haven't been playing netball so long. Does anyone have one or two basic activities, easy to understand (for them) which I can drill them with for passing, defending and getting free, as well as something for the shooters. They are always all over the place (we do practice channels) and really struggle to get free - they run a bit and then just stop to wait for the ball. Anything, even just some advice would be appreciated! :)
