Rugby Netball Agility & Runnin...

Drill to practice skills and creating space.Set up a pitch (roughly 25m x 20m depending on age and number of players) with two scoring zones at each end (green cones). Split the players into two even teams and give each team different colour bibs.Teams are aiming to score points by passing the ball to a team mate who is standing in the scoring zone (see diagram). Each time a player catches the ball on the full from a pass from a team mate in the scoring zone their team scores one point, and they turn and attack back the other way. Players cannot run while holding the ball, they must be standing still when they pass. The defending team cannot get closer than 2m to the player with the ball, and can only gain possession by intercepting a pass or if the attacking team drop the ball or give a poor pass which goes to ground. PROGRESSION:Players can only have possession of the ball for 2 seconds. If they hold the ball for longer than two seconds then possession is turned over. This means that the defending team can gain possession if they cut down the attacking players passing options.Players can run when in possession of the ball, but still can only have possession of the ball for 2 seconds.Passes must be over head.Passes must be below waist height.Chip kick / grubber kick instead of pass.Passes must be out of the back of the hand.Passes must be behind the back.Defenders can touch the attacking player in possession of the ball. If the defending team makes two touches on the attacking team then possession is turned over.

Attacking Area Mid Court and Shooters

I'm coaching a team of under 9's and 10year old team of ten platers. These girls are all at different levels I have a two players who played for the first time and two players who have come from junior courts, playing up into the main courts. My biggest struggle is out attacking area it is very weak and we can't get the ball from center pass into the third quarter we lose it with a turn over. When our defense gets the ball back we struggle to get it pass the center circle. I need help, suggestions and drills to help my girls to develop in the area by getting the ball down into our area.

Vicki Wilson netball competition

hi, i'm going to be trying out for the Vicki Wilson competition and i am up against really good players that are in rep and int he A team in club netball. these players are so much better than me and there are nearly 30 people trying out to get into the team. i really want a position but it will be really hard to get in. the trials are going to be held inside a sports hall and we are playing on slippery wooden floor. i'm scared i might slip. also, there are going to be people watching us play, so i'm really nervous about that. i don't have training for netball, only netball games every Monday, so i'll have to do my own training. Any tips or advice? any training ideas i can do on my own without much equipment? Thanks so much!

Tips for new WA players

HI EveryoneI recently switched from GK AND GD, to WA. I'm finding it difficult to feed the ball into the circle and having confidence in my passing accuracy. I'm also having trouble on getting free for centre pass, especially when the other team has a really good WD. I've only played WA a couple of times so I'm still learning, but I really don't want to let my team down. Thanks all, for the help!

GS/GA Movement to get into a shooting position

Hi everyone, I'm a GS/GA and I shoot well but I struggle to make opportunities for myself to shoot in games. It is slightly better when I play GS if i stay in the circle, but when I play GA or come out, it has happened that I haven't shot at all. I either get blocked from going in the circle straight away or am too slow to position myself. Could anyone give me some pointers about basic movement? I have watching videos where players roll/cut - if a player is marking you face on and blocking you from entering the D, would that be how I get around them? Could you give me some advice on how to improve from here? Thank you. Asked using Sportplan on Mobile

What a fantastic tool. The Chalkboard and session tools make an unbelievable difference in making training plans in both time and organization. I will be instructing all of my assistant coaches that this tool must be used for all sessions during the season, so that we may build a club coaching resource library.
