4-6 year old training drills

4-6 year old training drills

I train 4-6 year olds and they all have different skill level some have only just learnt to kick a ball and others are good so im just wondering if their are any drills that suit both skill levels keeping the better players still happy and not bored

I usually theme a session, so cars or the army etc and make my drills all relevant to the theme, always with the children having a ball each, and then i set individual challenges to the players who are more experienced.

For example with the car one - If we are dribbling our car around the grid, I might ask some players to change their speed at a junction or to perform skills such as windscreen wipers (inside to inside), or to use the outside of their foot to go round the roundabout (cone circles) or to chip the speed bumps (hurdles). So they dont get bored etc , but the others are still engaged, learning to stop and start their car or do toe taps to fill up with petrol or park in certain areas (stop on the line etc)

Hope that helps
