How to teach the snap down landing on round off? She always lets her legs fall down.
see the answer i put up about teaching cartwheels and the use of mag. show her how close her hands and feet are together.
another what is to do a slow roundoff stopping in handstand, then staying tight with toes pointed (very important not to flex toes on the way down or it can injure their back) land on a crash mat. check her body for tightness before she drops down, and then recheck when she lands that she is still tight.
then get her to do handstands and to the end part of a flick where she will need to snap down and getting her chest up. (if you have access to trampolines this exercise can be started on that and see if she can keep her body pretty straight)
the piking on landing is very common, but can i ask if she is also doing this in her cartwheels? ie not lengthening out her cartwheels and bending at her hips on exit? make sure is staying strong, and her shoulders stretched up throughout the whole exercise.
hope that helps %3A)
