UNFORTUNATELY THE SECOND BALL IS THE BALL IN PLAY. YOU MISSED OUT ON THE FIRST BALL.  HAD YOU DECLARED THAT YOU ARE PLAYING THE SECOND BALL PROVISIONALLY THEN YES THE FIRST BALL WOULD BE THE BALL IN PLAY!
