DESCRIPTION

Feeder feeds ball over the net for players to run into position so that the ball is landing in front of them. They then move forwards letting the ball go through their legs (don't jump).

Walking Setters | 10 Setting Drills

Walking Setters:

Players work in pairs and stand across the court from each other. One player starts with the ball and overhand passes the ball high in the air and walks forward. They keep setting the ball until they have reached the other side of the court.

Once at this end, they set the ball to their teammate who does the same thing, while they walk across the court.

Bump | MVW:READY TO REBOUND

Bump:

Throw the ball in the air, let it bounce then bend your legs. Put your arms out in front and bump the ball up using mainly leg movement not arm swing.

Keep it going, changing which arm you bump the ball with (try and use good rhythm and mainly legs).

Catch and Throw Game | VSG:1V1 HIGH NET

Catch and Throw Game:

Introduction of basic tactics; throwing the ball into space on the designated court, catch in a volley position in front and above the forehead and throw from a volley position in front and above the forehead. You can't move with the ball and must face the net at all times.

Digging Game | MVT:FOREARM PASS

Digging Game:

Start the game with equal or as near as possible teams. Serve an easy underarm serve to start the game then using only digs try and score points against the opposition.

One player plays the ball then goes off court to the back and queues until their turn again. Play the game to set number of points. Players must go for the ball, it's about effort, control and tactics.
