This week we've got an energetic session for you to use, working on the serve famously used by Pete Sampras and Roger Federer, to get your players serving wide in the deuce court (or if you're left-handed, in the advantage court) to take their opponent off the court to create space for their first shot.
\r\n\r\nThe one-two punch is an effective attacking tactical pattern that can be used time and time again and is a useful tool for all players to have in their arsenal.
\r\n\r\nWhat's in the Session?
\r\n\r\nTo develop your players' ability to hit the wide serve from the deuce court, creating space for them to hit into off their first shot after the serve, we start with a wide serve practice - getting players to aim their serve into the marked out target zone. Once they've got their eye in it's time to practice the one-two punch!
\r\n\r\nPractising in a structured rally, your players will work on their wide serving, taking their opponent off the court with an attacking serve and then follow this up with a smart shot played into the space they've just opened up.
\r\n\r\nWhat are you waiting for? Create a simple set pattern that your players can use time and time again to start the point aggressively and get their opponent on the move from the first strike!
