Tennis: Volley and charge at the net

Your tennis drills are extremely useful coaching tools.
Nail, Tennis coach

DESCRIPTION

Coach feeds the balls to the same side of the court. The player has to hit three balls to complete a full run through of the drill.

The player hits each ball to a specific zone marked out with two cones. After the shot the player has to move toward the net.

The third shot should be played close to the net. After the third shot the player moves back to their starting position on the court.

COACHING POINTS

Many players lose points at the net because of their poor footwork habits, but it is fundamental for a successful net game to get your players moving to the net.

Get your players into the habit of moving forward after the shot by asking them to hit the ball and take a few steps forward.

This will allow your player to get a better chance to hit angle shots as also to shorten the reaction time of the opponent
