The player stands at the net, whilst the coach stands behind the baseline in the deuce corner. The player and coach rally together, with the coach hitting lob balls. The player hits regular overheads to the deuce side.
In this drill, the player works on consistency and placement while hitting overheads. The rally demands from the player to constantly adapt to the changing environment so the player has a chance to improve many aspects at the same time. For more advanced players, the coach can set the zone to hit the smash into.
