DESCRIPTION

Practice serve then player has to play the ball down the line and the player at the net has to try andplay the ball cross court between the two opponents.

If the ball is not played correctly opponents can return the ball and try to win the point.

Players in two lines on the baseline.

Player starts running across court to hit a fed ball on the service line. Hits the ball down the line and then closes in on the net to hit a short fed ball volley across court for a winner. Then the player moves to the back of the other que.

Players line up in two lines half way down the court.

The coach feeds the ball short over the net for a player to run diagonally across the court to play the ball down the line.

Unusual Tactical Choice - Backspin Down The Line

Player stands behind the baseline. Coach stands in front of the player. Coach feeds challenging balls to the deuce side by hitting the ball into the ground. Player sprints and hits defensive forehand slice down the line.

Using the middle to defend under pressure (it's the biggest part of the court after all!)

The coach feeds single ball feeds from the basket putting the player under extreme pressure. Starting from the singles tramline the players must try to hit the ball on the run directly back down the middle of the court to the rectangular target. Players can choose whether they slice or hit over the ball depending on how quickly they can get to the ball. Each player hits just one ball at a time so players waiting must be ready immediately for the next feed and after the shot has been played must jog back to the start position at the back of the court in order to keep the drill continuous. Repeat this drill with the coach feeding from the opposite corner.
