Tennis: Move The Rival & Finish

Your tennis drills are extremely useful coaching tools.
Nail, Tennis coach

DESCRIPTION

  • Coach feeds two balls to the deuce side and one ball to the ad side.
  • The coach fees the last ball a little shorter to the forehand side.
  • Player executes patterns from the baseline hitting forehand cross-court, forehand down the line and backhand cross-court.
  • The last ball player moves inside the court and hits a finishing forehand down the line.

COACHING POINTS

  • The player works on patterns that includes building the point from the baseline and finishing the point inside the court.
  • By changing direction and keeping the ball deep into the side zones, the opponent doesn't have a chance to step inside and get into offensive mode.
  • Having the ability to execute this pattern with proper pace, the player increases the chance of getting a shorter ball and stepping inside to try to finish the point.
  • The coach should remind players to keep good height over the net while playing from the baseline and to take more risk and power with the last offensive shot.
