DESCRIPTION

Players are positioned as shown in the diagram.

Players run clockwise passing the ball to the player in the centre.

Change the rotation half way through.

COACHING POINTS

Coach changes direction of running every now and then

Good accurate passing off both hands

Call for the ball

Put two feeders and two balls in the centre.

Zig Zag Relay

The player with the ball passes to the next player and follows the direction of the ball using a side step.

The player who receives the ball does the same and so on to the last player who receives the ball and runs around the group to the first cone and restarts the drill.

Pass Invaders

  • Split the team into two groups.

    • The players run to the cone and then pass the ball square before running on to the next cone and pass square. When the players reach the end they have to run back through the middle of the cones.

    The practice keeps repeating.

    1) Side by side.

    2) Jog to far end of grid and back.

    3)Count number of passes.

  • Set up the 10m x 40m Grid as shown.

    • 4 cones and 1 ball per group.

    Split the group into teams of three. On the coaches command the players start running up the channel passing between them, once they reach the end they turn around and come back repeating the passing.
