Netball: Single handed flick to wall and jump (left)

DESCRIPTION

Starting position

  • 2 feet in ready position to jump
  • ball in palm of left hand held high and to the left

  • Movement
  • jump upwards and push/flick the ball to the wall
  • land and bend knees
  • jump again in time for the ball to return to the left hand
  • whilst in the air, push/flick ball back again

  • Pre work
    Start nearer the wall and ask players to jump up and touch the same spot on the wall using their left hand. This will aid players elevation and rhythmn

    COACHING POINTS

  • Keep your eye on the ball
  • fingers are light
  • follow through towards the wall with hand
  • bend knees to increase elevation
