Handball: Warming Up Against Low Shots

Excellent site. Very concise and easy to use. I'll definitely be emailing...
David, Handball Coach

DESCRIPTION

Warming up is very important for goalkeepers and this is a simple way to do it.

Form a queue 9 metres from goal, move forward and throw at goal from 6-7 metres out.

Throw balls which can be stopped by the goalkeeper, so make sure your players throw precisely and with not too much force.

There is an extra goalkeeper in the goal facing the goal itself. He has the task to prevent balls rolling in between goalkeeper-in- action's legs

This series is aimed at stopping low shots. Goalkeepers should face at least two series of shots during a warm-up.

COACHING POINTS

When stopping low shots, stand upright and bend quickly with arm and leg stretched out for the ball.
