Football: Wide Position Recovery

Introduce goalkeepers to recovery lines and efficiency of movement across the goals. Check the GK is moving into line with the ball when making the save.

• Have a central line of cones coming out from halfway accross the goal. Two wide Servers.
• Server 1 strikes the ball into the GK. GK then recovers and makes save from Server 2
• Server 2 can only serve once the GK passes the middle line to prevent them just shooting into an empty net.

• GK starts on the post facing the sidelines.
• Server 1 starts approaching the ball and GK gets into line with the server.
• Server strikes the ball towards the goal.
• GK then repeats this from the opposite post.
• GK always starts out of position and gets into line with the ball and the serve is initially around the GK's Body.

• GK advances and receives a volley into hands from Server 1.
• GK then places this ball in a wide positioned cone with nearest hand and then receives a shot from Server 2.
• Meanwhile Server 1 makes their way round to inital ball that has been placed and shoots for a third shot.
• Can put attackers in position of server 1 to practice volleying and finishing on the angle.

• Two GKs working in 2 seperate goals at 90 degrees to each other.
• Two servers in central positions and two servers in wide positions.
• GKs begin facing the post and both turn in from the post at same time and then deal with a shot.
• GK1 and GK2 then cross over and get a shot from opposite server in wide positions.
