DESCRIPTION

One player either side of two cones (3m apart)

A shadowing drill, the player without the ball must follow all the movements of the ball carrier.

Neither player is allowed to cross the line!

Slide-Run-Slide | Footwork and Movement

Slide-Run-Slide:

In a defensive position the player will move towards the cone on their side in a defensive glide.

Once they have reached that cone they will turn and run to the cone on the other side.

Once the player has reached this cone they will defensive glide back to the start position.

Screen - Cutter Drill | Shooting

Screen - Cutter Drill:

  • Setup the practice as shown.

    Players 1 and 3 dribble towards the wing, with player 4 setting a lateral screen for player 2. Player 2 comes off the screen and receives a pass from player 3 for a shot. Player 4 cuts to the ball and receives a pass from player 1 for a shot.

    Three man switch to shoot and score:

    Player 1 starts with the ball in the middle of the court and plays the ball to player 2 who cuts in to the first cone.

    Player 2 must then pass to player 3 who has also made a run inside to the other cone further up the court.

    Player 1 in the meantime should loop on the outside behind player 2 to receive the ball back from player 3 and take a shot.

    Rebound, Outlet and Squaring | Footwork and Movement

    Rebound, Outlet and Squaring:

    One player with the ball, facing the backboard. On the command the player rebounds the ball off the backboard and then passes to player 2 before running to the three point line. Once they get there they stop, pivot to face the basket, do a v-cut to the near side and accelerate towards the basket to receive a pass from Player 2. The player that passes the ball goes in for the rebound.
