Stay in pairs but swap the balloon for a shuttlecock. All nets are set at a lower height. Each student must strike the SC over the net. However, the student receiving the SC must let it hit the floor then pick it up to do their strike back. Progression: If students are feeling confident then allow them to strike the SC back over the net without having to let it hit the floor first. Aim of this activity is to get them used to strike the SC over the net. The net is kept at a lower height in order for it to make it easier and also so it allows them to focus more on their striking rather than just being able to hit it over the net. By switching to SC instead of balloons they should now feel more confident in their ability to be able to hit a target so should be able to hit SC more consistently. By giving them a possible goal of striking the SC back and forth without it hitting the ground first will hopefully keep them interested and motivated to progress.
