Sportplan Ltd provides online Coaching Tools and resources for a wide range of Sports. With over 1-million visitors per month, and nearly 200,000 email leads the quality of our online marketing is an essential part to the growth of the company and is used to cross-sell our paid-for subscriptions, ebooks and complimentary products. Each enewsletter has an 'editorial' component, and a 'marketing' component, each sent weekly.
Sportplan own numerous sports specific sites include www.coachingrugby.com and www.coachingnetball.com and have a multi-sport offering of www.sportplan.com. Sportplan is an important channel for thoursands of coaches worldwide and has great potential for growth. We have recently launched offline software and iPhone apps to complement our subscription products and provide our subscribers with a full and progressive service.
Core duties
The Online Marketing Executive will support the Digital Marketing Manager in:
- Portfolio of ezine titles:
- managing monthly scheduling of marketing & editorial email activity through the product range. Responsible for coordinating with content providers, designers and development team: editorial, offline marketing, eBooks
- analysing and responding to results of your campaigns, and planning/updating monthly activity to meet targets
- execution of editorial and marketing emails according to the activity schedule
- editing existing copy and generating new copy where required
- liaising with internal editors - ensuring copy deadlines are hit, giving updates on performance and feedback where required
- Developing and improving the level of email marketing activity:
- personalising our approach: lifecycle emailing, segmentation based on activity (email & purchasing)
- developments: deliverability, design, online copy structure, reporting, etc
- testing new approaches and ideas for e-marketing campaigns
- Wider analysis of results and performance - using report and spreadsheets of data to report on:
- campaign performance
- monthly HED (email profit centre) reporting
- best use of email data based on campaign and test results
- Supporting admin:
- liaison with marketing and customer services when required
- maintaining marketing reports
Additional responsibilities
- liaising closely with the designers, developers and subscription teams to ensure the online marketing activity is effective and supporting
- contributing to idea generation across the team
- assisting with market research projects to find out more about what our customers want and how this impacts our e-marketing channel
- other online marketing responsibilities which will develop with the business
Key skills & experience
- Online marketer with 1-2 years experience, including experience in email marketing
- or Graduate from industry specific degree.
- Strong ROI focus, proven ability to analyse and respond to results
- Analytical thinking
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Good copywriting
- Creative thinking
- An enthusiasm for the online channel
- An enthusiasm and knowledge will benefit the candidate but is not essential
