September '06: IRB launches new online coaching resource

The International Rugby Board (IRB) has launched an exciting new online coaching resource for use by trainers and coaches of rugby at all levels around the world.

The new tool, accessed at www.irbcoaching.com, has been developed for the IRB by Sportplan and gives coaches access to a suite of interactive tools for coaching all aspects of the game of rugby. ...............

”This new development is a huge step forward towards a routine approach to best practice coaching around the world,” said IRB Training Manager Mark Harrington.

“By taking the combined abilities of some of the best coaches in the world and coupling them with the technical expertise of Sportplan, we’ve been able to build a tool which should give immediate and real benefit to coaches at all levels and across all the continents, including in the developing countries where coaching resources are often scarce.”

April '06: Google gets Sports Coaching

Sportplan Ltd, the online sports coaching resource, has launched a free sports coaching plugin for your personalized Google Home Page. The plugin gives you a free fully animated or video exercise each day, ideal for inspiring sports coaches with new ideas. The plug-in can be added to you home page in 2 clicks from www.sportplan.net/google.


February '06: Sportplan Launches England Hockey Leadership Award Support Resources

Sportplan continue to support England Hockey and this month they have rolled out a new online resource for the Leadership Award. This site is the first to take full advantages of Sportplan's coach mentoring and back office database tools. This site, not only benefits the candidates with a great resouce, but also supplies the course tutors easy to use tools to track the progress of students after the courses.


January '06: Gloucester RFC goes Online

Gloucester RFC are now the second premiereship academy choosing Sportplan Logs as their preferred solution to managing player development.

August '05: WASPS Academy goes Online

England Premiereship Champions London WASPS Academy set-up opt tp use Sportplan Log Book system to track young Players.

Rob Smith, Academy Manager, "I find the log book is ideal for maintaining strong links with young Academy listed players. It provides up to date, individualised advice and guidance to coaches and players, also acting as a strong motivation tool. To reach the highest levels and fulfil potential players need to be organised and have a desire and discipline beyond the norm, the logbook system provides a clear indication as to who possesses these essential qualities. 15 minutes input per day provides significant and essential information to the coach in order to progress the player to their maximum potential.”

 

July '05: Junior Golf resources for The Golf Foundation

Sportplan agrees to work in conjunction with The Golf Foundation to develop its online golf initiatives; including ‘Start Golf’, ‘Foundation Golf’, ‘Junior Golf Passport’, ‘Tri Golf’.

Stuart Armstrong, The Golf Foundations development manager commented, "We are delighted to be able to deliver the latest interactive resources to our development staff, it is exciting seeing how sports development can benefit from the latest technology."



July '04: England Netball Talent Programme Get Online

Sportplan launch a new online log books with AENA Talent Programme, the system allows, national and local squads to communicate with support staff. Direct reporting and graphing tools keep managers up-to-date on athlete progress.

Lynn Gunson, England Netball Development Manager commented, "Sportplan's online mentoring system, saves us time in communicating and anylsing palyer development, allowing more type to give better feedback. A great advantage for both athlete and coach."



January '04: Rugby Footbal Union trial Sportplan Log System

Middlesex and Berkshire County U14 and U16 county teams are taking part in a 3 month trial to judge to development of the junior athletes using the online mentoring system.

Dan Brown, Rugby Development officer commented, "Gives much needed insight into players training habits and helps to build a closer relationship between player and coach."



December '03: Sportplan Holland Launch

Sportplan launch first non-english language site. Sportplan Holland, will look to develop resources for the thriving dutch sports market. The large dutch clubs with over 50 coaches per club, benefit from Sportplan's newly developed network system allowing coaches to build and exchange training plans online.


September '03: Rugby Football Union recommends Sportplan Online Coaching

Sportplan have produced a RFU branded online coaching website, providing free tag rugby materials and lesson plans. Coaches are able to purchase further interactive materials approved by the NGB.


May '03: Sportplan Contract Top Basketball Coach

Sportplan agrees contract terms with Brani Bazany – England Women’s Basketball Coach to supply coaching materials for Sportplan’s online Basketball resource.



Feb 03: Sportplan signs with England Hockey

Anne Baker the England Hockey Coaching Development Manager commented "England Hockey are pleased to be working with Sportplan to produce innovative resources online for the Level 1 Hockey Coach Award. The visual effect of video clips combined with the coaching points and moving practices are invaluable to coaches. Hockey is rapidly moving into the 21st century and England Hockey looks forward to working in partnership with Sportplan to cater for the needs of hockey coaches in England."




Feb 03: Sportplan signs with the European Cricket Council

Following ongoing discussions with the ECC. Sportplan signs a contract to provide the ECC with online cricket resources as part of its European development strategy.

The EEC’s European Development Manager, Ian Stuart commented ‘I am delighted to be associated with Sportplan. I feel it is an excellent resource and fits very well with the European development programs remit to develop and promote cricket across Europe’.


November '02: Curriculum online accreditation.

As part of its ongoing educational strategy Sportplan announces it has gained successful accreditation to the government’s new digital learning initiative.


September '02: Interactive Tennis Development with LTA

Sportplan signs contract with the LTA Coach Education department to develop its online resources. Particular focus being given to lesson planning and long term player development.

Anne Pankhurst Development Manager for the LTA Coach Education department commented “ LTA Coach Education has worked with Sportplan on the development of several projects for coaches. We needed to present information to our coaches in a new way - and to make sure it was interesting to read and use. Sportplan have innovative ideas which they put into practice in the CD's they produce. We are very pleased to continue to work with them and will now be extending this to develop material for teachers."
