Opposition playing with 2 Centre Halfs

Opposition playing with 2 Centre Halfs

Hi All,Just looking for a simple way to counteract teams playing with 2 Centre Halfs. Have had my Centre Forward try to mark the 2nd Centre Half with limited success I'm not sure if it is there Centre Mid who is playing in the position or one of the Insides as they seem to diengage when they go into attack. Any help appreciated.RegardsIan Manhire

Hi Ian, Have a look here at the answer about teams playing 1:4:4:2 formation ie. a four man midfield. Your options should be outlined there BUT.............

Are your opposition playing 3 or 4 at the back when  in possession?

This will affect the options.

Hi Jon excuse my tardy lateness in responding been away coaching a lot of hockey they usually play 2 back with a high sweeper so a back 3 which is pretty common trend in Australia. I am seeing a growing trend though to play a back 4. Regards Ian
