Numbers for players in a trial situation

Numbers for players in a trial situation

Hi, Does anyone have a smart way for giving all your players a number when they are taking part in a trial. Was trying to avoid having to print and laminate and pin numbers onto their backs. How do others manage this when you might have up to 50 kids at a trial and you don't know them all. Any suggestions appreciated. Cheers Tracey

Numbered bibs are available with numbers front and back. We have different coloured sets in school for use in moderation (makes teams easier) Bibs run from 1-12.

Hope that helps?

Hi Tracey,

We suggest you print off some stickers and tape them to your players' stick. We have a stickers template you can download and print for free here: Hockey stick sticker template.

This template was created to be used in conjunction with our pre-season hockey selection session. If you'd like to find out more about this plan click here.

Best of luck with your tryouts!

Thanks, that`s a great idea for recording results. What about if you are watching them in game situations from the sideline and making notes on a selection sheet. If you don`t know their name it`s hard to see something on their stick from a distance. Any suggestions for this? Cheers Tracey

Hi Tracey, you could also print large font numbers to tape to your players' sticks. Alternatively you could look to buy bibs with numbers for players to put on over their tops.

Hope these ideas help - and if anyone else has any suggestions please let us know!

Thanks for the suggestions. Thought I would post the results of my research in case they are of any use to others.

I have also been looking into Race Numbers which they use for fun runs. I think these might work. Only about 50 cents (NZ) each and should be reusable a number of times. We have a local supplier and no minium quantities.

Also another idea was to use A5 clearfile pockets but still quite a bit of mucking around printing and then taping up the sides but might be slightly cheaper. Still need pins for both options.

Cheers, Tracey
