I am able to flight the ball but does not land up accurately.I am not getting the required pace but getting surprisingly more spin.Help me to improve this.
Hi Shiram,
I think it it easy to get into the mindset that you should be bowling 80mph+ (if a seamer) or 50mph+ (if a spinner) because that is the standard at 1st class and international level.
However, i think accuracy is more important, and on English wickets that it certainly true. So I would work on that aspect of your game and not worry about pace just yet. Speed will come as your action gets smoother and your technique improves.
Also, without knowing your wicket, I'd say you are probably getting lots of spin because you are bowling slower and flighting the ball. So add being able to land the ball where you want and you will be a really good amateur bowler.
Here's a drill to help you with developing bowling accuracy
Hope this helps,
Paul
